Select Inn Fujisan Gotemba Reviews

Our main aim is to go Gotemba Factory Outlet and to see Mt Fuji. We did both by staying at Select Inn.

I booked a room for a night to stay before my early morning Mt Fuji climb. The staff were excellent, helped me with taxi booking and also held my bag the next day for me to retrieve it after my climb. Two nice surprises: free dinner of curry rice or noodles is provided, also there is a Men's bath (like an onsen) onsite, which the staff let me use after my climb to clean up. There is also a large supermarket nearby for supplies.

Good service and good view from the room, but the hotel is a little bit far away from the station.

Closed to train station. Enjoy fuji mountain view and great buffet as japanes foods.

This reminded me of those old-school backpacker motel in Europe, everything is dated but bearable. Just manage your own expectation- it’s a hotel u see on a 70s-80s. The curry service is plain curry with rice which is a nice touch on a cold rainy day. Google map showed me the longer way. Basically upon coming out of the train station facing the koban, just walk straight up- no need to cross that train track on which I got horned at. Important thing to take note- It’s a majority smoking hotel, so need to take note for those with weaker respiratory system. I booked a non-smoking room, repeated that on special request as I have asthma-induced from bronchitis before. Yet, when I checked in, there were only smoking room, but the staff managed to get me a room eventually as it was getting dark and cold at 5ish and I was traveling with my elderly mom as this was meant to be a short layover and the nearest to the Gotemba station as Gotenbakan was sold out.

It is a 10-minute walk from JR Gotemba Station. There are residential houses on the road. You can follow the Google map. The hotel only has English reception. The toiletries are very complete, there are yukatas, which can be taken by yourself, and there are children's slippers. The public bathroom is only for men, which is not big. The room has a window and Japanese tatami, which is enough for 3 people.

This shabby hotel charged me 12,000 yen for one night. They only care about making money and can't decorate it properly. It's an unscrupulous business. The worst.

The room has a strong smell, it's too small for three people to stay in, not recommended, and the hygiene is average!

The room is not big, but it is a good place to stay during the trip. The front desk can communicate in English and there is a simple breakfast. I saw many foreigners staying here. This should be considered a fast hotel. It is only a few kilometers away from Gotemba Outlet, and the taxi costs more than 1,000 yen. In general, if you don't have high requirements for accommodation and are in a transitional period, this is ok!

This room is very suitable for family travel! Three beds in a one-bedroom room, which is a very large space in Japan! The hotel service is great, and they are very helpful in introducing routes and borrowing umbrellas! It is not far from Gotemba Train Station, and there is free curry rice on the first day, which is very good! There is a hot spring on the first floor of the hotel, but it is only for men!
