First the good bits: The hotel itself is lovely, very modern and clean. The three bars are well-stocked. The staff at reception and the bars were great. There are two pools, the one larger pool plays (in my opinion awful) club-like music all day but there is a smaller secondary pool without music which we used a lot. There is the option of two a la carte restaurants you will get to eat in if you are staying for longer, it is unfortunate you can't pay to eat here more frequently if you require. The room was a good size, comfy king-size bed. A roomy balcony with a table and chairs. Powerful shower. There is a regular bus from the bottom of the hotel into Corfu town, which costs 2.5 euros each way per person- you can pay by card on the bus. The bad bits: There is very little to do around the hotel, but the bus is easy enough to go somewhere with more to do. Unfortunately, the food and attitude towards allergies massively let down the hotel. Breakfast was standard/repeated pastries/bread/cooked bits and meats or cheeses. Lunch was either ordered from the bar (overly greasy and tiny portioned) The main let-down was the main restaurant which you can use for either lunch or dinner. The Feel Free concept towards food, is not so much made to order as pre-portioned on the side and left until someone orders it on the app. There is no rhyme or reason for the portion size for meals, either too large or too small. The seasoning in the meals alternated between lacking and tasting an entire bottle of salt. I have a gluten allergy, and emailed the hotel before booking and again once booked to ask if that would be an issue/how I should approach making sure I didn't get food that would make me ill. I was assured it would be labelled (it wasn't), and I would just need to speak to the restaurant manager once to explain and they would tell me how it worked. Gluten-free pizza and pasta was offered. Very little care was taken to cross-contamination, so I did not order these. There were no gluten-free dessert options other than fruit, which was mostly mushy. From the grill/other options, it was next to impossible to find out if any of it contained gluten. Several times I got mocking replies from staff saying "of course there's no gluten, it has no pasta", as if gluten cannot exist in food that is not bread or pasta. I got fed up of trying to explain this, and just didn't eat for several meals as it was preferrable to getting ill. I do not think all hotels need to cater to allergies, but if you are going to do it please train your staff properly and don't lie to people who email before booking a holiday. If I had known how little care would be taken, I would have spent my money elsewhere.
