Hotel Odisej

We stayed at the start of the holiday season, and had a wonderful time using the hotel as a base from which we could explore the Mljet National Park, one of the entrances of which was not far from Pomena. Our room, a deluxe sea view room with balcony, was very comfortable and clean. It was a tiny bit small, but otherwise perfect. The concierge staff were always helpful, and had an efficient check in system which minimised the queueing time. The breakfast selection was excellent - all the usual cooked English, continental and cold selections, all of high quality. Waiting staff were efficient at clearing the tables. We ate dinner once, and were very happy with the buffet selection, and especially impressed by the quality. Everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavour. The hotel has a beautiful seafront location, and had a great selection of restaurants nearby. Please note, the supermarket in Pomena is not open until later in the season. The ferry from Gruz (Dubrovnik) also lands nearby. We would highly recommend Hotel Odisej!

Heaven on earth! Place feels like home, staff feels like family. Perfect to reach by ferry from Dubrovnik. Wonders of the national park in walking distance. Buffet offers all you can wish for. We will be back! Thank you to the entire team for making this an unforgettable vacation:)

It was wonderful at the hotel. The rooms had a/c, it’s right on the beach and near so many places to eat. The staff are very helpful. My only issue would be the lack of elevator for luggage however the staff are more than willing to offer someone to help with the luggage. We carried our own and it was fine. Just something to note.

Idyllic is the word for this hotel. 1. Location is optimal. We walked off the ferry without reservations (Croatia was a late addition to a well planning Greek islands’ itinerary), The staff was superb and fair in offering us a room. It is a very short walk to the Mljet park entrance which made each day convenient logistically. 2. Breakfast and dinner buffets were wonderful; we felt like we were on a nice cruise with friendly company. The staff were friendly and competent. 3. The room with the harbor view exceeded our expectations. For us, the character of this historic hotel is preferable to a modern corporate or smaller boutique hotel. The bathroom was fine; no problems whatsoever. The weather, well I have to thank someone else for the excellent weather. 🙏 Thank you hotel staff for a wonderful treat !

Whilst this hotel appeared a bit dated, everything worked and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. The sun terrace and sea pool were excellent. The breakfast offering was very good. It was close to lots of restaurants. There was easy access to the National Park.

This hotel is in an enviable position, near the ferry port and close to the entrance to the national park. It has a swimming area with sun beds, although we were never able to get one, and lovely terraces above the beach, where it was easier to get a sun bed. Tricky to avoid people smoking though. The room , (double with balcony and sea view), was acceptable. The bed was large and very comfortable, and we had a decent view from the room. The air con was very good. No safe. The shower room was very small, with horrible smelling toiletries, and thin smallish towels. Towels were changed each day, and the bin was emptied and the bed made, but nothing was cleaned. The balcony was just about big enough. Rules to follow - no washing of clothes allowed, (everyone of course had swimming gear out to dry), no food or drink to be brought in…….not very welcoming points to read. My husband hated it all. The breakfast buffet was ok. We’ve had worse. The evening buffet was ok the first night, and the second night the main courses were not to our taste at all. And all the food was cold. Some of the waiting staff were useless, and some were excellent. One particular waiter was downright obstreperous with us, for no reason at all. For our third night we couldn’t face the buffet, so ate at the pizzeria that belongs to the hotel. For our fourth evening…..well, we checked out and went elsewhere, despite having paid for four nights. We stayed here so we could visit the national park. You obtain a voucher from the hotel to take to the ticket office, and that proves how long you’re staying for. You then pay 25 euros per person for however long your stay is, irregardless of the number of days. One day at the park? 25 euros. Seven days at the park? 25 euros. The staff at Reception are very friendly and helpful. However, the hotel needs a refurbishment and it would be great if there could be designated smoking areas on the terraces, and on the restaurant terrace.

Hotel Odisej Mljet is located in the little town called Pomena in the Mljet National Park, located in one of the islands of Dalmatian Coast. We came here only to have breakfast before our visit to the National Park. We went to the terrace and enjoyed a lot with breakfast buffet and with the views of the sea and the surroundings of the little town. Excellent and quite moments at the end of October. Excellent stay from start to finish. The journey across to magical Mljet island on the hotel boat was just the start of a great holiday. The hotel is in a fantastic idyllic location, the view from the room was stunning, the room was very clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly without exception. The bars and restaurants were very well run, the swimming area was great and the spa was a hidden gem. I’d never been to Croatia before, but if Hotel Odisej is typical of the country, then we’ll definitely be back! Thank you Hotel Odisej!

This 3star Hotel is located at a wonderfull place with stunning view and is closest to the parc entrance. But thats unfortunatly it. Its functional and ok. Agree with other visitors who noticed that this facility needs rehaul and renovation rather sooner than later. I hope that ALH (Adriatic Luxury Hotels) adresses this hopefully soon, so we can start recommending it to others… the location here it too lovely.
