We had a wonderful stay. The place is clean, the service was excellent and very safe. Breakfast was according to what we have ordered. The backup system made it convenient for us during loadshedding. A great and historic place

My stay was wonderful and peaceful. The staff members were very friendly and helpful if one needed some assistance. You could easily get through them. The place was the way it was on the booking site.

Very friendly staff! I felt very welcome in the space. Although there was no loadshedding when I was there I like that they have put measures in place to ensure that your stay would not be disrupted by Eskom.

I have stayed in many places in Makhanda before, but 137 High Street was the perfect combination of a cosy BnB and a fancy hotel! Really enjoyed staying there, and the hosts go out of their way to make sure your stay is a comfortable one!

The beds are very comfortable, rooms, and bathrooms are extremely clean. Staff are very friendly, and its walkable distance from the schools and resturants. Wifi is good. Great experience.Brenda Mwami

The receptionist was warm and welcoming and took the initiative to contact me to check when they should expect me to check-in. That showed me the extra care they provide to customers. The room was neat and all other relevant amenities were in place.

Aside from hurting my neck while sleeping in a strange position, the place is fantastic! The staff are all so friendly and the rooms are exceptionally clean and organised. Watch out for the donkeys though!

My stay was amazing and the service was too notch. The staff was friendly and very attentive. The room was amazing and everything was set accordingly. It was very peaceful. I did think it was quiet pricey.

I'd stay there again. The place was spotless and had helpful staff and secure off-street parking in a central location, close to restaurants. One point of concern was the floor in the shower. Mine was very steep at the sides with an ill-positioned drain in the middle deep enough to be like a hole and this made slipping a very real risk. Easy enough to remedy, though. I hope they do.
