Cockroachs and ants in the room, not enough vegetarian food choices, loud music from clubs nearby, only one pool, not enough sun loungers, only 2 small bars, patio handle was broken we reported it but no one came to fix it, any snack food such as pancakes or biscuits was an added cost despite being half board or inclusive, TUI rated it as a 4 star personally it would be lucky to get a 3 star. Toilets stank of the sewers at night, ordered room service on a number of occasions and food came cold on each one, we won't be staying here again

I love this hotel and would love to stay, however, it’s been 15 years since I was last in Mauritius and I’ve changed considerably, I eat mainly fish or vegan (no red meat) and I have a son with a nut allergy. What accommodations are present at this hotel to allow for dietary restrictions and are dishes clearly labelled as having with or without nuts?

Small hotel, well located for shops & restaurants/bar, Hotel is pretty basic with limited facilities. Pool extremely cold, very few sun beds & tiny not very nice beach attached to the hotel. Room was a decent size, clean, basic but no where to hang wet clothes other than outside in front of the room where everyone can see! Most staff were pleasant. Special mention to Zack who made lovely cocktails, Dushan, Jonas, Yuvraj at the restaurant. As a vegetarian I struggled with food as it was the same food each day & I don’t like rice, so whilst there was a curry of some sort each day I had nothing to eat them with. I spoke to Rajeev the chef who kindly made me alternative food when asked. As a 4 star hotel I would have expected more choice of food & not expect leftovers from the night before to be served the next morning! Spa treatment was good but not particularly cheap. Evening entertainment is very poor. One night the bar staff were singing they did not know the words to the songs & were using their phones to read the lyrics not acceptable for a 4* hotel! On our 4th day at the hotel we had a minor issue with being charged for cocktails. For the last 4 days we had ordered cocktails & not been charged as we were on an all inclusive package, that day the lady at the bar decided to use a branded gin rather than the local gin like they had done since we arrived then were presented with a bill. This is not acceptable we should be advised before the drink is made not after it has arrived. We had 2 rooms. One of our rooms had an issue with not getting hot water in the morning. (Pool view room) On the 1st day it was brought to their attention they said they would send someone to look at it but no one came. On the 2nd day they advised her to run the shower for 20 mins then should get hot water that did not work. On the 3rd day she was told to run the shower for 40 minutes this again did not work. By the 4th day she had had enough & eventually managed to speak to a senior member of the team who confirmed she would need to run both the tap in the sink & shower at the same time as the rooms in that block had to get rid of the cold water held in the tank before they could get hot water. This is totally unacceptable. The manager then finally agreed to swap rooms the following day. Unfortunately one of our party was ill & requested the hotel to call out a doctor. He was the most unprofessional doctor I have come across. He did not examine her or check her temperature, when she asked him to take her blood pressure he said his machine was broken. He just prescribed about 6 different tablets which had to be picked up at reception in a hours time. But once received we had no idea what each tablet was for so ended up taking none of them. He also wanted payment in cash which we refused to do, he used the excuse the card machine wasn’t working but when we said we had no cash the machine miraculously worked! Terrible experience not what you need when unwell!

Our recent stay at the Veranda Grand Baie was extremely disappointing to say the least. We stayed in June 2024, and our entire experience was very far from the 4 star hotels we were expecting. Despite having a smooth check-in, we spent our first night with a room full of cockroaches, and as much as we understand we are in a tropical country and these sort of things can happen, we were quite disappointed about the slow reactivity of the staff to deal with this matter the next morning. Having to remind the reception multiple times (both over the phone and physically at the reception) to kindly ask to send someone was not exactly the service we were hoping for! This could have been all forgotten quickly but unfortunately we also had to deal with a shower issue that same morning. Our bathroom was completely flooded as soon as we would take a shower. We spent that morning calling the reception and having to wait for someone to come and take a look at it - of course this person never came to investigate. However, we did have a visit from a staff member to come and check our mini bar, which was an absurd situation to be in. FIY, they are all about charging you more money! That's the only time, I've seen them being very reactive. We find it extremely frustrating that we had to make our way to the reception with our luggages and request to be allocated to another room when this should have been offered in the first place by the Veranda staff. All of these, meant that we waisted our first morning at the hotel when we had other plans, especially for our first day in Grand Baie. From that point on, everything went a little downhill for us and we started noticing many small details that we were not happy about. To name a few; part of our luggages were forgotten and not brought to our new room, meaning we had to call ONCE MORE the reception, being treated like we are not clients on the resort beach until giving our room number, no apologies given for the inconvenience of the cockroaches and bathroom flood, we were told to carry our own luggages to the car when checking out when someone came to help us for our check-in, prices in the hotel shop not reflecting the hotel tax added on top when paying, neither it was even mentioned or explained in the first place. Everything felt very money orientated, and it wasn’t even subtle. Having stayed in many 4/5 star hotels, Veranda definitely doesn’t offer the standard service of those establishments. Don't bother!

Tutto molto bello, curato e pulito, vicina ai principali servizi di Grand baie, quest’ultimi raggiungibili facilmente a piedi Anjalee e vicky sono due membri dello staff che ci hanno fatto sentire a casa, ma in generale ogni membro dello staff è pronto a soddisfare ogni tua richiesta

Stayed there with my family and friends to celebrate my birthday. Hotel is well situated. Staff was kind gentle and very helpful. Our rooms were well equipped clean and comfy. We enjoyed the food as well as the infinity edge pool. But would prefer a heated one. We were mesmerised by the fire show but lack entertainment like a good Dj or a discotheque. Nevertheless u can drop by the Njoy pub which is only few steps ahead. We could try archery table tennis and billiard at the game corner. Overall we had a wonderful time. Thks to Veranda team who made our stay pleasant n enjoyable.

I hade really relaxing holiday. Nice place. Very friendly staf, Ajay Coconut,Ansaya,Odesh always helpful and funny. Hotel have a good location close to the bars,restaraunts,night clubs and shops.Direkt on the beach.Beautiful garden,a lot of flowers and plants.I like it.
