This was my fifth time staying here. I had booked a different hotel for a couple of nights just to check it out and regretted doing for myriad reasons. You don’t realize how important a beach, a manned security gate, and having staff on hand day and night are until you don’t have them. In particular I was so impressed with Ricky the concierge and the young French blonde woman at reception - I’m horrible with names - but both were so nice, patient and helpful. The shuttle to restaurants and Hope Estate is probably the best feature this resort has provided in the last few years. Taxis on SXM have become insanely exorbitant ($20 for a 9 minute ride!) so it’s nice to have this feature. Please keep it going! My only suggestions would be to try to watch out more for non guests using the facilities. I saw two people come up from the public access and use the chairs before 4 o’clock on a Sunday. Also saw two local men, one with a fishing pole, come up from the far end of the beach, climb around the rocks by the restaurant, and then when I went to lounge under the shade on the boardwalk, I found them using the chairs. This is unfortunate given how little shade there is other than on the main beach. Also I’m not sure if this would be feasible, but have you ever considered adults-only weeks? I know this is a Family friendly resort, but this last time it felt a little too much so — to the point that enjoying the beach and having peace and quiet was impossible. Sooo many screaming toddlers, some of them no parents to be found, running up and down the beach. and the chairs are so close together it just makes it worse. I hate to say it, but if I ever go back to Saint Martin, this is going to factor into my decision of where I stay. I will never understand why people bring toddlers on a Caribbean vaca that they will never remember. My parents didn’t take me anywhere until I was 17, but that’s a whole other discussion.
