We booked the Holiday Inn Express in Munising, MI for a lo-o-o-n-n-g weekend (Wed-Sun) because we had painters at our house, making it un-livable, so we decided to make a mini-vacation out of a difficult situation and stay at a beautiful place that we had been to several other times and give the painters time and room to work. Am I glad that we did that! The property was immaculate. Our room was perfect, with a stunning view of Lake Superior, and it was pet-friendly, which was important to us for this trip. The staff was outstanding - from Jordan, the manager who was super-helpful - to the person(s) who put together the excellent breakfasts that were included. Our room was handicap accessible, because I use a wheelchair. For once, that meant something. It not always does. The roll-in shower was literally that. No lip - yet it kept the water inside unless one pointed the hand-held shower-head wrong. We found lots to do in the area. We spent one whole daytime exploring the town of 'Big Bay' where the 1959 film "Anatomy of a Murder" was filmed starring James Stewart and Lee Remick was filmed. It is also where the actual murder happened. We also enjoyed the sights and sounds of both the town of Munising, and the city of Marquette. In short, we had a wonderful time, enjoyed our stay thoroughly and look forward to visiting again. I would without reservation recommend that you get a reservation at the Holiday Inn Express in Munising, MI. You will thank me later.
