Timberlake Lodge Hotel & 17th Street Grill

Literally the best hotel I’ve ever been too! The staff was SOO nice. All of them. The front desk staff, the housekeepers, the staff in the cafe & also in the restaurant. The place is very clean. Our room was cozy the AC/heating worked well. Double shower was our favorite part! Super cool. Very fun water park for the kids and even us parents. Definitely would love to go back. Comfy beds as well.

the room we were put in had thick layers of dust on the lamps and the edges of carpet along walls had visible dust. we opened the pull out bed and found crumbs and a stained mattress pad. there was food stains on the walls by the mini fridge. i complained about how dirty the room was and asked to move to a different room. an hour later i was notified that someone had cancelled, so we moved rooms; the new room looked cleaner, yet carpet and drapes, and upholstered furniture was super old and worn looking. unfortunately, the morning after our trip, despite taking a shower when arriving home, i broke out in hives, likely due to dust mite and mold exposure staying 2 nights at timberlake lodge.

Super clean and extremely friendly staff! Everything was taken care of and absolutely excellent service! Water park was orderly and tidy, breakfast was very plentiful and no plastic ware in sight! Excellent quality flatware and dishes. The decor is fun and very tasteful, no broken or non functional items, well maintained site, with ample free parking. No extra fees, everything was accounted for accurately. Can’t say enough good things!!

Total satisfaction with how my reservation was handled by Ami over the phone, and how I was professionally taken care of by Shawn at our check in. Our King suite room was very clean, comfortable, quiet, and has an awesome ,amazing shower. Superbly taken care of in the hotel restaurant. Hats off to the cooks for the fine food. Ditto to the Bar/wait staff Lynn, Keri, and Mary for complementing our stay with Great Service. Yes, this Hotel is a Gem! Also forgot to thank Allan (night audit) for asking how everything was going!

Wonderful experience from check in to check out. Resteraunt is great. Bed is comfortable. Shower was amazing. Very large room that was clean. Can't believe I have to have 200 words in this review. What more can I say...the place is great!

We were there for our Son's Wedding over a 3 day period.. The Staff was always available and helpful, rooms were exceptionally clean, and everything worked! The rooms are quiet of hallway and outside noise, and the free breakfast was fresh, hot and well attended to by staff. the reception hall was wonderfully set up and roomy, even with a DJ cranking out dance music you could talk normal.

We were forced to stay here as a team for a recent tournament. (The tournament told us where we stay). We were given no discounted rates for rooms even though we took a huge block for the team. While the hotel was clean and the staff was friendly, it was not near the $180/night we were forced to pay. During majority of our stay there was a strong ********* smell in the hall near our rooms, the elevator and other areas. Several of our parents complained to the staff and nothing was done. They didn't even try to figure out where it was coming from. Our last night there a fistfight happened outside some of our doors in the middle of the night. (Other people, not our team). When the front desk was called they said they would call law enforcement but no one from hotel even came up to check on things. There are no peepholes so you have to fully open your door to see whats happening. Again, we complained as we were woke up in the middle of the night and nothing was done. The chlorine smell in the pool area was so strong your eyes burned after a short time, even if you were watching and not in the pool itself. We had to keep taking breaks and go get fresh air for our eyes to stop burning. When our kids told the staff their eyes were burning they were told it was a chemical reaction to the pee in the pool. If that is true...yuck! We didnt go back in after this info. Restaurant was not real family friendly and over priced. I will never choose to stay here. If we have another tournament in GR I will call and request our team is not placed at this hotel. Stayed at way better places that are better run for a lot less. Gave the score I did because it was clean, staff were friendly (although not real helpful) and breakfast was decent.

This was our first visit to the Timberlake Lodge and if and when we return to Grand Rapids, we will definitely stay there again. Real nice hotel with a good location, clean room, quiet, friendly & helpful staff, reasonable rate; we had a wonderful stay. As an added bonus, the free hot breakfast was one of the better ones we've had over the years. Hope to see you again next year!

This is a beautiful quiet hotel with a great a**osphere and good complimentary hot breakfast. The first decent hotel breakfast I’ve had since COVID hit. Stayed there one night on business. The staff were courteous and helpful. I would stay there again.
