Best Hotels in Grandcamp-Maisy, France

After an early morning departure from London, a 6 hour ferry ride, and another nearly 2 hours of bus from Caen, we arrived at Grandcamp-Maisy quite tired. Our tour director had our room keys available and we headed to find our rooms. It was worth the search. Very large apartment-style room with a modern kitchen, living-room, separate bedroom, and slightly larger than normal bathroom. Very comfortable and attractive. The separate bedroom was a bit small; very little room to maneuver around the bed, but comfortable and manageable for a single occupant. Just a five minute walk to the beach. The Maisy battery, if you're interested in WWII sites, is not too far away, either. Breakfast was the usual buffet-style offerings, but there were plenty of options and all the food was fresh. There was a minimal staff in January, but we managed to do just fine. A very nice place.

Le site de l’hôtel se présente comme hôtel de charme. Or, 10 chambres sont situées en annexe dans des bungalows sans charme avec vue sur une cour goudronnée servant de parking. Nous avions sous notre fenêtre l'énomre 4 X 4 des propriétaires ! Les chambres étaient propres, correctes mais sans charme. Petit déjeuner buffet très limité ; nous avons réclamè les 2 fois des croissants, et du lait en recherchant quelqu'un dans la cuisine. En fait le buffet n'est pas ré alimenté. Personnel affairé et peu aimable. Pour l’hôtel rapport qualité prix médiocre. Le repas du soir lui présente par contre un très bon rapport qualité prix.
