"My wife and I had the good fortune of staying at the Bear Mountain Lodge during our recent visit to the Silver City area. The lodge was a major factor in making our visit positive and memorable. This historic building has been immaculately maintained and furnished. Our room was spacious and comfortable, while its private balcony provided a perfect perch from which to take in the scenic surroundings. Members of the staff were friendly and helpful. The included breakfasts provided each day were delicious. We rate Bear Mountain Lodge among the top 10% of places we have stayed in more than a half century of travel."

Drifter Motel

"Water damage to ceiling in bathroom. Wall board pieces in tub. No bath towels. Front desk did not have adequate supply of towels. Only 1 (hard) chair in room. Shelf holding phone fell off wall with very minor pressure. Black mold noted in particle board shelf. TV didn't work. No coffee pot or microwave. Fridge froze items including soda. Frozen carbonated drink bubbled out once opened. Multiple guests outside hanging around smoking pot. I had to roll up car windows all the way to prevent the smoke and smell from getting in. Overall worst motel experience of my life! Not worth $130 per night."
