Would definitely recommend this hotel - outdoor heated pool is lush,, fantastic location,, lovely cooked breakfast. There are a few things you could be fussy about, but if you want a clean room in a no-frills 3 star B&B then this is good🙂

Stayed here for 2 nights and had booked through Buy a gift. After initially paying out for the 2 night voucher we then paid another £96 which I assume because of being the school holiday and I am gutted....a total waste of money. The receptionist was miserable and not very welcoming. The decor is outdated and needs a good refurb. We were on the top floor and even getting up there I thought the stairs were gonna cave in. Once in our room it was tiny and not worth the money.... we had to slam our door shut as wouldn't close properly, there was a blue light in the bedroom not a normal light bulb, stuff was broke, not clean (hairs left in the bathroom) and the walls are so thin you could hear EVERYTHING! The man who was at reception was then at the bar... he seemed fed up so I said had a bad day and he said I've had enough of this whole place, I'm done!! I believe this man is the manager and I couldn't believe what he had just said to paying guests! POSITIVES - close to beach and nice breakfast.

A very basic hotel but clearly and old building and could do with a bit of updating but it was clean and comfortable. Could not fault the breakfast though, really good and the service for this was excellent!!!

Basic room was clean only for one night did the job breakfast was lovely did what it said on the tin. Check in was okay close to the beach and amusements parking was hard so I parked over the road as it’s a small car park. Staff at breakfast was so helpful again for 38 pound I didn’t expect loads but again did what it said on the tin

No lift, been condemned but still advertising, pool unusable as no chlorine, very murky, nice pool area but very unkept, full of dirty ashtrays on broken bench tables, nails sticking out on broken furniture, man on reception ignored us as he was watching the cricket, room small with tiniest bathroom, you could sit on the toilet and clean your teeth at the same time, bedding and towels clean, stairs and corridors like a sauna, toilets at reception disgusting, as soon as we saw them we knew what to expect, breakfast was good and when Jackie was serving it ran smoothly, she was lovely but was only called in occasionally, other mornings we were served by different people including one person in work-boots and a filthy apron, this hotel is in a great location and could be amazing with some care and attention, but I can’t see that happening, it’s still advertising the lift, evening meals and entertainment on sites and this is not happening, as the lift has been condemned, and no evening meals ect. So it’s just a B&B and a very basic one at that, we wouldn’t stay there again and do not recommend it.

First impressions are very important and the one you get entering The Victoria hotel is not good. We were greeted by a surly man, who didn’t welcome us or even crack a smile. Gave us the room key and pointed to a notice which had breakfast times and check out time. He then told us the lift was not working, no apology, and left us to it. Basic room which had obviously seen better days, very comfortable bed though. Breakfast next morning was cereal, juice and full english, which was actually very nice.

Visited here as a last minute night away for a change of scenery. On arrival rang intercom to say we were to stay and ask about parking . A rather rude male grumpily stated 'no arrival before 2'. We explained we didn't wish to check in but simply park prior to our check in and were greeted by the same grouchy response, indicating we were inconveniencing him by our presence at the door, so we parked on the street and walked in to town. When we got back, someone in a hoody was suspiciously peering into the windows of our vehicle and looking around, so we cautiously moved the car to the hotel carpark and checked in. The male on reception was still less than welcoming and we were given our room key. The hall bannister was broken and all cello-taped with Budweiser tape which we found rather hilarious. The room was very outdated and below basic but we saw the funny side. The pool outside was lovely and would have loved to have had a dip if it had been nicer weather. Breakfast was actually very nice as the lady serving breakfast was very pleasant, friendly and welcoming. Maybe she could teach mr moody on reception some people skills. Would return , even if purely for the comedy factor.

I stayed over on Sunday 15th of May. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. There’s lovely lush outdoor pool to enjoy, if it’s nice day. Short walk to the beach. Would definitely stay again. Rooms more vintage style rather than modern but that’s something I like adds bit of charm. Family run business so therefore care more about customer experience than some these chains. I turned up breakfast at 8:56 and they still served me full English so I can’t complain
