We were visiting the Winston-Salem area for one night. We had read the reviews about this hotel, some people had cited recent concerns about the construction. Anyhow, the construction is still going on, but it appears to be mostly limited to the lower 2 floors. We had one room on the 3rd floor and the room immediately above it on the 4th floor. There actually were a couple of very small signs of recent construction on our floors. For instance, the hallway telephone on the 4th floor near the elevator had not been installed fully yet. On the other hand, the two rooms we had (I think they were called "executive suites") were nicely appointed, they were clean, they had a cute layout, there was a small sort of kitchen area, and the window had a pull-down shade with a forest motif. Both rooms were attractive. There is no safe to put your valuables in, but, on the other hand, there are interesting light fixtures in the rooms. All of this at a very reasonable price. Due to construction, the business center is not open yet. Breakfast was good, there was a selection of hot and cold items, though a relatively small group of hot items. There was cereal, yoghurt, pre-packaged waffles ( no wafflemaker), and pre-packaged muffins. The hallways had signs saying to be careful with "wet" stairs (one of the hotel staff had written on one of the signs leading to the stairway: "thanks, Mr. Slippery Stairs"). Apparently, due to the recent construction, the staircases had new tile placed. As it turned out, the staircases were not wet or slippery, but actually very clean and safe. The staff was friendly and helpful both at the front desk and in the breakfast area. This is, overall, a good hotel.
