I was essentially disgusted by this horrible hotel. Let me tell you why. First, I find out upon check in, after I had to ask, that there is absolutely no breakfast - not even coffee and a muffin. Then, when I am directed to the stairs for my second floor room (turn left from the lobby) and ask where the elevator is I am told that there is no elevator. I asked in astonishment, "They built this hotel without an elevator?" the two people behind the desk looked at each other and one of them said, "I don't think there was ever an elevator here." I still find it hard to believe that a hotel that has inside room entrances was build without an elevator. Then, going upstairs, the air temperature was very hot and I noticed the hall air conditioner at the entrance to the second floor was not plugged in and there was this awful smell in the hall. Thankfully, the AC was on in the room and the smell in the room was more like disinfectant than rotten fish like it was in the hall. Next we noticed that there was no soap in the room. Three containers of shampoo, but no soap at all. I went back downstairs to tell the person behind the desk about the soap and she proceeded to tell me that someone had checked the room twice and said all was fine. I told her that person had lied. She then brought me 2 wrapped bars of soap. When I got back to the room, I noticed two of the light bulbs were burned out, so I took them downstairs and was given replacements. Although the room was large and the bed was comfortable, the carpet was filthy, which I didn't notice until I looked at the bottoms of my white socks, which now were dark brown (see photo). The toilet tank refilled by itself maybe 30% of the time - otherwise we had to lift the tank lid and push down on the float to make water come into the tank. The snack machine was completely empty (see photo), the few feet of water in the pool appeared to have accumulated from rain and the exposed sides of the pool were filthy (see photo). Some of the light fixtures around the pool were broken and leaning (see photo), and the landscaping at the hotel entrance consisted of a variety of healthy ****s (see photo). We had booked this hotel for 2 nights and decided rather than switching to another hotel and paying (I used my Choice Privileges points to stay free for two nights) we would endure a second night. We left the first morning and upon our return at 3pm that afternoon we found our room had not been serviced, although the house keeper was cleaning the room right next to ours. We asked her about it and she showed me her list, on which our room was not marked to be cleaned. She was very nice and quickly made the beds and changed the towels while we waited. The hotel next door had a bar so that parking lot was crowded with cars late at night and lots of people were walking around. One night we watched as police broke up a fight between two females in front of that hotel. I'm sure I am leaving out other proble
