Hotels Near AWO Schatzinsel in Grenzach-Wyhlen

For professional reasons, I searched for a accommodation near Lörrach. We were very warmly welcomed at our arrival! Food inconsistencies were very much taken into account both at breakfast and dinner! Thank you for the highlighted service. The renovated rooms are very modern in the Nordic style, the bed was also very comfortable. We felt by the family atmosphere not only as guests but as home.

Novotel was a nice place to stay for our overnight in Basel. Easy check-in and check-out so we had no problems at reception. Our train left very early the next day so they kindly prepared our breakfast to take away which included 2 sandwiches and 2 bottles of water for each person. I can't say much about the facilities since we didn't get to explore but the hotel was a convenient location to get to Basel SBB. The reception staff also helped us book a taxi which we were thankful for as fewer trams went around the city so early in the morning. We were also given a Visitor Pass to travel around the city so the trams were free and we got a discount at the museum we went to. The only downside was there wasn't a convenience store nearby or maybe there was but we didn't get to see one immediately. Thanks, Novotel!

I have stayed in many Ibis budget hotels and this was by far one of the best ones. The ladies at reception were extremely friendly and helpful and the gentleman who was in charge of breakfast provided first class service. All hotel staff spoke German, French and English and were very approachable. The room was nice and tidy. I was given a Basel card at the hotel, which allowed me to use public transport free of charge and provided access to various museums with half price entry. Although this hotel is a 15-minute walk from the train station Basel SBB, there are 2 trams that one can take from Basel SBB that lead to a tram stop, which is a 2-minute walk from the hotel. I had a great time here and can highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Basel. Thanks to the Ibis team for a great time there!

This is a modern hotel with convenient location Location Not in Basel Old Town, but there is metro stop right outside, they give free metro RQ vouches to all hotel guests. Very easy to get around by metro Very safe area Staff Front desk staff are all very friendly Room Clean Spacious Modern Comfortable beds with modern bathroom Restaurant On-site restaurant has nice ambiance and tasty food The Viking River Cruise uses this hotel for their guests. Very pleasant stay Highly recommend

Hotel is conveniently located less than five minutes’ walk (with luggage) from Basel SBB. We were greeted by a genuinely friendly receptionist, who informed us that we had been upgraded. Well, we arrived at the “room,” which turned out to be a suite with dining/conference area, two bathrooms, a soaking tub, and a panaromic view of the Basel skyline. The dining/living area and bedroom were separate, each with individually controlled A/C. The weather was actually very cool and pleasant for late June, so the A/C was sufficient. That said, if it had been hotter, I’m not sure if the A/C in the bedroom would have quite enough for me, but I’m an extremely picky customer when it comes to air conditioning. In general, Switzerland is a tough place if you need your room at 19 Celcius/69 Farenheit. The living room, though, was able to get very cold. The in-house dining and beverage options were fantastic. There’s a more formal restaurant on the mezzanine above the lobby, where I enjoyed a great meal that worked around my dietary restrictions. Downstairs, there’s a patio restaurant/cafe, and a stylish indoor bar with a midcentury Milanese aesthetic. Honestly, I was surprised it wasn’t busier, but that might have been because we were staying midweek, right after Art Basel. Overall, I very highly recommend. Probably best suited to business travel, but it didn’t feel impersonal, or lacking in personality or style. On the contrary, it was comfortable and contemporary, with a few modernist touches that elevated the look and feel of the property.

The room is small, the suitcase is a bit difficult to open, there is no kettle in the room, you need to go to the front desk to borrow it. It belongs to the domestic seven-day standard. The prices in Munich, Basel, and Berlin on my itinerary are about the same and the lowest grade. The dark carpet used in the room feels dirty. The service is not bad, and the sanitation is not bad. It is two stops away from Vitra where I need to go by tram No. 8

The building does not work unreservedly on the guest, but arrived at the right floor, this impression turns around 180 degrees. You are welcomed by a bright lobby with friendly staff. The surprise continues in the generous and top-modern rooms. The restaurant is also very recommended, although the choice might be greater.

I travel a lot and usually dont care about the exterior of the Hotels but the inside and staff is important. Worker at the desk was very polite and skilled when i checked in. When i entered the room... abt 300 Euro a night! To say its old to say nothing - like in the old good USSR times in Moscow, Sankt Petersburg, DDR side of Berlin! 40 years ago, what a nostalgic feeling, smell of old carpet, never cleaned AC. Had to open window to get fresh air insine. Paint art on the wall by Natalie Goller - Innenraum Rußland. Was für ein Zufall! For 300 Euro a night! First evening at the Restaurant i choose Wiener Schnitzel with salad and French fries 🍟. My first Wiener Schnitzel ever and never ever if this piece of smashed to 3 mm dry pork was the real Wiener Schnitzel then sorry... Only good thing was the salad. Asked in the morning if they do laundry the answer was - no, but whae i asked again at the desk in an hotel for 300 Euro a night the lady called someone and repeated what he heard on the other side of the line - laundry is the responsibility of the guests. Means do your self At the hotel For 300 Euro a night! Finally me and the lady on the desk figured out that the hotel does outsource the laundry to a third party company. Duration - few days, At the hotel For 300 Euro a night! Complimentary water only upon arrival, At the hotel For 300 Euro a night! Kettle, tea in room? Deam on! At the hotel For 300 Euro a night!
