Recently attended at Wynyard Hall for an afternoon tea with my mam. We have quite frequently visited Wynyard Hall so we know what to expect from food, service and settings. Upon our attendance we received a nice welcome but did witness a male member of staff chasing after an elderly couple disputing whether they had paid for their afternoon tea. This was somewhat off putting and clearly awkward for them and us. We both commented upon it and felt that could have been handled much more professionally as it did become apparent that they had paid. Once seated we were attended upon promptly and service of the afternoon tea was done professionally, politely and smoothly. The food was delicious. Dainty sandwiches and cakes. Scones were the exact consistency they should be. The setting was nice and relaxed. Staff were friendly. We enjoyed our afternoon tea. When leaving with our box of treats, not being able to eat it all we were surprised to be approached in the foyer by the same male as we witnessed earlier querying whether another customer had paid. The same male asked whether we had paid more than deposit, the deposit payment was taken at the time of booking. I confirmed the remaining balance had indeed been paid. Despite this the male still questioned whether I had, to which I reconfirmed I had and showed him receipt to confirm payment. Initially he wanted me to return to the desk to double check but I said no my receipt is sufficient, it confirms that the remaining balance had been paid. No apology was received and we found the whole incident embarrassing we were made to feel that we had skipped paying! We were completely aghast as to how it was dealt with. There was no professionalism whatsoever. We have never encountered such problems as this when we have dined or stayed at Wynyard Hall. To witness the same problem earlier, clearly more training is required. An awful and embarrassing feeling being accused of not settling a bill. Please make improvements. Surely a check on the system and/or conversation with a colleague would have avoided such a sour taste to an end of a pleasant afternoon.

My husband and I recently got married at Wynyard Hall and cannot thank the staff enough for all their help throughout the planning process and on the day itself. Throughout the planning period Suzanne was very attentive, polite, helpful, no question was too silly to ask and she truly made us feel like our wedding was totally unique and special whereas previous venues we had viewed before booking Wynyard made us feel like our wedding would have just been on a conveyer belt with all the rest! The wedding breakfast menu tasting was made to feel like such a special experience having a private room all to ourselves looking over the lake and our opinions on the food were truly valued and any feedback noted for the big day. Dan was so helpful and friendly when it came to our questions re: the wine and made a great master of ceremonies on the day. The set up and organisation on the day was great and we had s many great comments on the food! The venue itself is absolutely stunning and very well kept - my family members that are not from the area were all so impressed with not only the hall but their rooms as well. My partner I have such amazing memories from such a fantastic wedding day at the hall and would like to return here for our one year anniversary dinner!

I recently booked the Spa as a surprise for my mam’s 50th and I would recommend the experience to others. On arrival we were greeted by the Spa host, Lindsey, who was extremely welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our day. She gave us a tour of the facilities and ensured that our multiple drinks orders were served promptly. The afternoon tea was beautiful, especially the scones. My mam had a lovely day and we will be returning!

Me and a friend booked a spa package which included 2 hours of spa facilities and afternoon tea. When we were arrived, we were shown to our table for afternoon tea. The afternoon tea was lovely with a range of cakes, scones and sandwiches. After the afternoon tea, we were then expecting to go into the spa as per our booking. However, when the time came, no member of staff was available to show us to the spa. After waiting, I told a member of staff that it was now our spa time. She then went to get a spa host. After 5 minutes, we were shown around the spa facilities. Here, it would have been useful to find out how the facilities worked as for people who haven’t been to the spa before, we didn’t know how to turn the bubbles on in the hot tub. The spa facilities are in good condition. However, one of the outdoor hot tubs was lukewarm and not ‘hot’ at all. We ordered our complimentary drink (we received an email earlier in the week to say the sauna wasn’t working so we were entitled to a free drink), however after an hour of this not arriving, I had to ask again for the drink to be delivered. Whilst the facilities were okay, we felt like we were left to find our way (hard when we haven’t been to this venue before!). Staff were not easily accessible when our drink didn’t arrive. Overall, it was a nice venue.

When we booked Wynyard Hall to get married within the grounds and chapel we also booked Dukeswood cottage and Maplewood Cottage for family to stay in the night before. The wedding department were all fantastic with the planning we were blessed to have Suzanne as they have a portfolio of experience to rival a vicar of weddings. She planned everything with us from our fave wan in music to our first dance time everything has to be part of the agenda of the day and they will establish the best plan for what you as a couple would like to have. We are very shy as a couple and the wedding we had was perfect for us as we had all our loved ones in one place. No matter how daunting getting married feels please book with the right company Wynyard Hall and the whole team of staff from the chef waiters cleaners and wedding organisers are so invested in your special day and that is so rare to find nowadays in the very click to order wedding service hotels offer. It all felt very bespoke and our family saw that the whole day just screamed us and what we were about! I can’t thank the team enough and wish future couples the same happiness.

Went for Mother's Day afternoon Tea. The setting was beautiful and the library was an amazing setting. The staff were immaculately presented, very friendly and attentive. The afternoon tea was yummy with plenty of choice of sandwiches, savouries and delicious cakes. A wonderful Mother's Day experience and at a very reasonable price.

I returned a couple of hours ago from a delicious afternoon tea at Wynyard Hall. I went with my mother for Mother's Day. I love afternoon tea there. The staff are always so welcoming, friendly and attentive. The afternoon tea is fresh and delicious. There's a lovely selection of sweet and savory. I loved the sausage roll, the red velvet cake and the coffee in particular. My mam loves the pastry used to make the quiches. She told about four people on the way out. The setting of the hall is stunning and just makes the whole experience wonderful. Can't wait for the next one.
