Courtyard Norwich

First checking in, the gentleman was very friendly and kind. After getting settled in the room it was nice. However, you could hear everything going on in the hallway. Upon asking for more towels there were no bath towels left due to being short staffed. Additionally the cleaning staff were exceptionally loud in the morning and had woken me up.

Bad experience with this hotel! not good insulation in the room, we got a room facing the highway and a ice machine by the hallway. Gaps are around the door. We can hear people talking and loud ice falling. We can’t get much sleep in the first night. The front desk wouldn’t let us switch to different rooms due to missed room cleaning time. They only clean the room after check out in the morning. We have been to another hotel in the area before, no noise issues. Also the bed sheets were scratches due to washed to many times. Not going to stay here next time!

The staff was very welcoming and the location was not bad at all.

This is the second time I've had to stay at this hotel for a family memorial service. It has not improved in the last two years. In fact it is much worse. Their weekend prices are ridiculously high. The rooms are OK, but certainly not worth that much. When I checked in, I happened to ask about breakfast, and I was told that I had to pay for it even though I paid extra for a breakfast included reservation. The clerk changed it for me after much checking. When it was time for breakfast the next morning, the chef was sick and no one else was able to cook bacon and eggs. My husband and I had to settle for cereal, yogurt and fruit. My fruit salad actually had a moldy blueberry in it. The computer went down so there was a long line because no one could pay until the computer came back up a long time later. I felt bad for the lady waiting on people as she was overwhelmed, and no one helped her. We went up to shower and get ready for the Memorial service. At 10:00, which was an hour prior to check out, a maid walked into our room without knocking. We even had a Do Not Disturb sign on our door. I told her we weren't checked out yet. She closed the door, opened it again and said, "Are you staying overnight?" I told her we were checking out at 11:00. Luckily, I was dressed when this happened as there was no warning that she was coming in the room. I complained at check out, and the manager came out and said she had seen my husband take our suitcases out. She said she asked him if we were checking out and he said yes. My husband said they never spoke to him, and he never told them we were checking out because we weren't until 11:00. Marriott should be embarrassed by the poor service at this hotel. I wouldn't suggest anyone stay here!

I had just driven 2 hours and walked into check in. There was an altercation between the front desk staff and a customer. I felt very unsafe and uncomfortable. I walked back out to my car because I didn’t feel safe, the police came. I left to find a different hotel. I didn’t end up staying there. When I called to get a refund, the woman at Marriott wanted me to go back in to the hotel to cancel. I told her I felt to unsafe to go in, she told me she couldn’t give me a refund then. I hung up, very dissatisfied.

Came to town for Tom Segura this weekend who was preforming at the ****** and was disappointed in the cleanliness of the hotel. Thankfully the sheets were clean but everything from the flooring to the upholstered furniture in our room looked and smelled musty. We were not comfortable removing our shoes in our room. The pictures of the hotel do not accurate depict how dated this courtyard Marriot is. For $300 a night, you’re better off at a much cheaper motel for the same quality of experience. Having stayed at many Marriott’s in the past, this was by far the worst experience. However with that said, the staff was lovely.

The parking lot/lobby not signed very well as it shares a parking lot with another suite. Front desk check in took a bit longer than I have experienced at other places. There was a sign up stating the staff would be back in 5 mins.(Trust me I understand staffing issues) however when they got back they took multiple phone calls before checking me in by that time there was a small line of people. Other than that no issues.

I was not impressed with the hotel. Very basic, it seems that the garbage was picked up at 4 am.
