Alles in ORDNUNG!! Ich will Keie Person hervorheben, denn es waren ALLE sehr freundlich und HILFSBEREIT!!! Von SA auf SO war Ich der einzige Gast, es wurde NATÜRLICH KEIN Buffet hergerichtet! Das war mir KLAR!!!!! Aber Ich bekam ALLES nach MEINEM Geschmack!!!! Ein HOCH an das Team!!!!!! Ernst

The hotel is very comfortable and comfortable and the hotel is very comfortable. The hotel is located in the heart of the city centre and is located in the heart of the city centre. The food is at the highest level of the excellent hotel the housemaster writes kitchen books. You can eat fish from the lake. The map is available in English. Most expensive breakfast with good house cakes. A little dream place with beautiful views of the small town of Gmunden but quietly. One of our best memories of Austria. It has 3 stars but worth four. It began with that we reserved a parking place in the front and, of course, have to pay for it. The parking place was not available, there was another car on it. After conversation with the hotel we had to go to the parking lot (publicly) next to the hotel. Our car was parked by the hotel staff. The key was gone back to the room. Then suddenly at 07.30 clock ! the phone sounded. My husband and I still sleep and we were told to go away with the car because the checked couple wants to go home. My answer was that we didn't park the car but the staff of your hotel and we would like to bring the key to change it. There was told us, already very annoyed that no one is there to drive away the car and we must come immediately. A eternal to and from the hotel reception. Horrible! Sunday at 07:30! At last my husband had to dress up, go to the reception, drive away the car and get stupid to be swallowed by the travelers.

Lovely hotel on the stunning Traunersee Great welcome, lovely room, and nice restaurant. The hotel has been recently renovated and so everything is very modern and smart. Some work is still going on but we experienced no disruption or problems . We arrived on a bicycle tour and they have very good secure storage for bikes .

I booked an apartment for five people (this apartment can fit up to 12 people) for 2 nights. I then received an email that the number of guests is one. That was weird because the minimum number of guests for the apartment is five as you can see in the attached photo. Upon arrival after hours at around 6 PM, there was no one at the check-in desk. Our key was placed at the check-in desk and our last name was written next to the room number. That room had two twin beds stuck to each other. It was tiny and very different than the apartment that I booked online using ***********. I tried calling the number that they had and when I did I heard a vibration of a cell phone at the check-in desk. I tried contacting *********** and they recommended I speak to the property directly and when I stated that I couldn't get a hold of them they asked me to email *********** and that they would get a response to me in 24 hours. Eventually they did respond saying that the property has been contacted but they did not hear anything back from them, so basically *********** was useless. In the meantime, I had to go next-door to ask for help. The lady next-door called one of the housekeeping ladies who then came down and tried helping us. She then called the man who came and gave us the apartment. That man did not even smile or apologize to us. The apartment was decent, and spacious, however the beds were too soft. It had a nice terrace. There were two bathrooms in the apartments one was a good size and the other was tiny. There is no air conditioner, as many other hotels in Europe. There is no elevator the stairs leading up to the apartments are pretty steep. The breakfast was decent. Parking is offsite and there's about a five minute walk. The town is small but pretty. Overall the stay was pleasant, however the check in experience and the incorrect room and no one at the check-in desk was very unpleasant. At check out, there was another lady who seems to be more involved and had a smile on her face and apologized for the experience we had.

The hotel is situated right on the lake. The rooms have beautiful views of the lake and the mountains. The rooms are small but very clean. We stayed in the quadruple room which has a double bed upstairs. The space was a little narrow upstairs and it was quite hot there on the days with high temperatures. The food was excellent. We had breakfast and dinner and it was one of the best home made food we ate at a hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

I have stayed at the Golden Ship a few times now, and I have always enjoyed my time there. However, I was particularly looking forward to my visit in early September because I knew that the Hotel had undergone extensive improvements since I was last there, pre-Covid. It did not disappoint, as the place looks amazing now. All of the Staff that I had dealings with were super helpful, especially the lady in the breakfast room who was keen to ensure that I was well looked after, lovely soul (I’m sorry, I didn’t get her name). I didn’t partake of the Spa facilities nor Restaurant, so can’t comment on those, but the Breakfasts are legendary, with everything you could wish for. I also liked the lockers, where you can store your baggage if there’s time to kill between checking-out and leaving the area. There are also now 2 lifts which help with elevator congestion The proximity to the town centre and the Bus/Railway station, coupled with Austria’s efficient public transport network makes the Hotel Goldenes Schiff a fantastic choice for someone like myself who never hires a vehicle whilst overseas. Bad Ischl is a superb base for exploring the Salzkammergut region, and I wouldn’t hesitate to sort accommodation at this hotel when I’m next there.
