I chose the Villa Gantz for my 3 night stay on my first visit to Guadalajara due to the location and all of the great reviews. While it is a beautiful property, and the staff very gracious and accommodating, they are still undergoing renovations all around the exterior of the property so I was not able to enjoy the outside garden areas as I had hoped, and there were some noise from the renovations during the day, as well as loud music until at least 11pm from the late night restaurant/club adjacent to the hotel. The room I was given was very dark with only one small window with a view to nothing, and not nearly as nice as some of the other rooms I had seen online, however the bed was very comfortable and overall the room was still very spacious and had a beautifully tiled bathroom. I really enjoyed the neighborhood surrounding the hotel, and it was a very easy walk to many cafes, restaurants etc and Chapultapec Avenue, in a very safe area of Guadalajara. I felt completely safe walking around the area at night as a solo female traveler. I would stay here again once the renovations have been completed but in a nicer room.
