Park Hyatt Guangzhou

Opened in 2015, Park Hyatt Guangzhou, while not located within Guangzhou's iconic landmarks (the Zhujiang New Town East and West Towers are right next door, offering equally close views of the Canton Tower), still secures its spot among Guangzhou's top luxury hotels thanks to its high-end ambiance, exquisite cuisine, and exceptional service. As the flagship Hyatt property, Park Hyatt Guangzhou's dining options are particularly noteworthy and truly impressive. This visit, I sampled Yue Jing Xuan and Yue Xuan. The former is renowned for its Black Pearl One-Star Cantonese cuisine, while the latter is an authentic Italian restaurant (also serving semi-buffet breakfast and brunch). Dishes like Yue Jing Xuan's flaming salt-baked crab, red crab steamed with Huang Gong chili and Chinese cabbage, crispy chicken with black truffle, baked Dalian five-head abalone with ginger and spring onion, stewed fish maw with fresh lily and rice valley, and sour soup hand-pulled noodles in a clay pot, as well as Yue Xuan's freshly made black truffle pizza, handcrafted preserved plum sparkling water, Tiramisu, various breads, and blueberry milkshake, were all incredibly delicious. Furthermore, as a luxury hotel, the service is impeccable. Whether it's the front office, guest rooms, dining, or kitchen, every department works seamlessly together in perfect coordination to ensure guests feel the warmth of home. Special thanks to F&B Director Nancy, Yue Xuan Manager Andy, Assistant Manager Nancy, Yue Jing Xuan Restaurant Manager Candy, Assistant Manager Noah, Front Office Manager Mark, Assistant Managers Mia and Jamie, Guest Services Zero, Housekeeping Macy, Eric, and the entire management and operations team. Park Hyatt Guangzhou is definitely worth revisiting!

Check-in was unbelievably inefficient. I arrived at 3 PM only to be told my room wasn't ready and was asked to wait in the lobby. I ended up waiting for an hour, and not once did any staff member proactively update me on the status. Every time I asked the front desk, they just said it would be ready 'soon,' and they didn't even offer a complimentary glass of water.

The service at Park Hyatt Guangzhou is absolutely not up to par with a five-star hotel. The staff was cold and perfunctory throughout my stay. The concierge didn't even offer to help with luggage, and housekeeping was incredibly slow to respond. What really bothered me was being asked to write a positive review at checkout, despite having a terrible experience. It felt like they wanted me to gloss over the problems. I paid a high price but didn't receive the respect I deserved. I will definitely not be returning!

For my birthday this year, I chose two hotels. The Park Hyatt's Canton Tower view room offered an amazing view, truly showcasing the entire Canton Tower! 👍 If you're planning to blow out candles at midnight like I did, you'll need to take photos beforehand as the lights seem to dim around 10 PM. A special thank you to Zero for her thoughtful service; she helped us arrange a cake and a birthday card, which was incredibly kind. As a hotel guest, there's no minimum spend requirement at the rooftop bar. The views are expansive, but the outdoor area can be quite smoky. The hotel's Cantonese restaurant serves delicious food, so if you don't feel like going out, you can enjoy a satisfying meal right here. Overall, it was a great stay, and I'd recommend it to any friends visiting Guangzhou next time.

Traveling with my family! This hotel is absolutely fantastic! I'm really impressed! The lobby is on the 65th floor, and while the hotel entrance might be understated, I absolutely love the wooden decor and design throughout. The pool is amazing! Our butler, Yilia, provided incredibly attentive service! Full marks, highly recommend! 💯

The facilities are old, just old and nothing else. Absolutely no value for money. The carpet is so dirty, it's hard to imagine it's never been cleaned. The bathroom has stains. I won't be staying here again. The service attitude wasn't great either when I called to give feedback.
