Chimelong Hotel (Guangzhou Chimelong Safari Park)

Pros - We stayed in room 5649 at chimelong hotel building 2 from Sunday to Tuesday to avoid the weekend crowds. Very close walk to the circus and theme park with the rollercoasters. There were daily performances during our stay including guest interactive african drumming, mascots/clowns greeting guests, evening musicians in the lobby. We liked that our room had bathrobes and slippers not just for the adults but also the child and that there is a stool and child toilet seat available too. Lobby always had background music playing, white tiger buffet restaurant has incredible huge glass windows looking onto the white tigers enclosure and another similar viewing windows setup for the flamingo/scarlet ibis/spoonbill habitat too. Kids inder 3 or less than 1m tall dine free and if it's the adult's birthday, there is a discount. No smoking smells or mustiness in the room. Puzzle designed vanity toiletries gave our toddler an activity that occupied her for ages. Good shower pressure. House keeping does a good job keeping things clean. Softplay indoor playground at rear of Paniyu foodcourt and in white tiger restaurants are great fun for kids to burn some energy. Cons: Swinging shower door could do with some maintenance as it looks like the top hinge will fall off the wall soon. To get to the zoo or the bird park, you can either didi or wait for the free shuttle bus to arrive every half hour after they pick up guests from.panda hotel first, which means you may have to wait for the next bus which is another half hour later. The outdoor swimming pool at hotel building 2 is closed from October onwards as per the water theme park. Tips: Avoid the touters who try to sell you a ride on the way to the bus stop. Also there are audio warnings at the zoo entrance to not fall for the touters who offer paid self driving safari rides as there are free safari train rides for zoo visitors included in the zoo tickets.The weekdays are SUPER Crowded at the theme parks with many many kids from various schools on an excursion outing to the theme amusement park. We believe the queues would have been less and table areas less crowded with families on the weekend. Bring some noise cancelling earmuffs for noise sensitive toddlers to use at the circus and for the african drumming in the lobby. After 5pm wait times for rides reduce to only 1-10 mins.

Hotel room is big, clean and spacious. My kids enjoy the room as it has bathtub. Staying at the hotel has some advantages which include earlier access to the safari park and paradise park. However, ordering outside food is a bit difficult as the delivery person is unable to deliver to the hotel
