Elegant Hotel Guangzhou Zhujiang New Town Canton Tower

I made a last-minute decision to spend New Year's Eve in Guangzhou with my child, and after much deliberation, I booked this hotel. Its location is a definite advantage, and the view of Canton Tower is truly spectacular. However, the holiday experience didn't quite justify the doubled price. The hotel's exterior and ambiance are grand, but like many hotels located in office buildings, there isn't a spacious ground-floor reception. Instead, check-in is on the 28th floor, which became incredibly crowded during peak times. We couldn't check in until 2 PM, which explains why they offered afternoon tea, but for exhausted guests who just want to change, it was incredibly frustrating. What I least expected was the noise from the bar at night. The revelry continued past midnight, stretching into 1 or 2 AM, pushing someone trying to relax to their breaking point. It only quieted down a bit after I called to complain. I seriously question the hotel's soundproofing. I recall a hotel I stayed at in Haikou whose windows could withstand the roar of a Category 14 typhoon, so in comparison, this hotel felt overpriced. This might be due to the holiday period, and I appreciate that the staff, despite the difficulties, still greeted guests with smiles. I just hope the hotel considers guests' suggestions for improvement, as such a great environment and advantage shouldn't be undermined by minor details. Finally, thanks to the hotel for the complimentary gift and for helping me retrieve my lost item. Goodbye Guangzhou, and may everything be even better in 2026!
