Bio-Island Guangzhou stayed at Somerset Bio-Island Guangzhou during a recent visit to the Canton Fair, and it was a solid choice for proximity to the fair but not ideal for exploring the city center or wholesale markets. The hotel is located on Guangzhou International Bio-Island, about 4.1 km from the Canton Fair Complex, which is just a 15-minute metro ride or free shuttle bus trip—super convenient for fair attendees. The metro station is practically next door, less than a minute’s walk, making it easy to get to the exhibition halls. However, it’s quite far from Guangzhou’s bustling city center and popular wholesale markets like Haizhu or Baima, which are at least 30–40 minutes away by car or metro, so it’s not great if you’re planning to shop or sightsee downtown.The hotel itself is modern and comfortable, with clean, spacious rooms equipped with flat-screen TVs, desks, and hairdryers. I enjoyed the quiet, green surroundings—a nice break from China’s usual hustle. The staff were exceptional, especially the manager, who went above and beyond to help with taxi arrangements and ensure a smooth stay. The breakfast buffet was varied and high-quality, and having a Starbucks, McDonald’s, and 7/11 in the same building was handy. The fitness center and spa were nice touches, though I didn’t use them much.On the downside, the distance from the city center and wholesale markets made it less convenient for anything beyond the Canton Fair. If your focus is strictly the fair, this is a great spot, but for broader exploration or market visits, you might want something closer to downtown. The views from higher floors were a bonus, though—caught a glimpse of the Canton Tower from my room!

The hotel facilities were modern, spacious, and stylish. The environment was peaceful and comfortable, complemented by a large balcony. Pillows and duvets were clean and pleasantly scented. However, the hotel staff's service fell far short of five-star standards, feeling quite unprofessional and lacking polish. The front desk phone often went unanswered, forcing me to go to the service desk on the 3rd floor for assistance. Room lighting control was rudimentary, offering only full on or full off. This meant fumbling in the dark for midnight bathroom trips, luckily saved by my phone's flashlight. Both the bathroom and balcony doors were difficult to open and close. The toilet area in the bathroom had no frosted glass, instead featuring a completely transparent door! This design severely lacked privacy, and closing the door produced a very loud noise. A single trip to the bathroom inexplicably required closing three separate doors. I requested more 3-in-1 coffee, but to my astonishment, they didn't even have coffee creamer. For a hotel of this caliber, failing to provide such a basic item to guests is simply unbelievable.

The quiet big bed room I stayed in this time completely exceeded expectations! First of all, the sound insulation is really good, the window is closed, there is no sound in the room, I sleep until I wake up naturally, the quality is super high! The facilities in the room are very new, smart toilet, high-definition TV, the experience is great. The most surprising thing is the design of the hotel, which reveals the elegant ancient charm of the Song Dynasty everywhere, and the photos are especially filmed. Commuting leaves are super convenient, and there is a subway station in five minutes walk. I have already recommended it to my friends, I will definitely choose here next time!

The hotel is beautiful overall. The lobby is elegantly minimalist, yet grand, and truly artistic. It's a great spot for art lovers to take photos, and I'm sure it won't disappoint. The front desk staff were warm and friendly. Breakfast is served buffet-style. Having breakfast on the second floor, the view looking down into the ground floor is absolutely stunning – I truly loved it! I'll definitely be back.

This is the most comfortable bed I have slept in a hotel this year. People with back problems need this kind of hard bed. The location of the hotel is good and it is convenient to go anywhere. The service of the front desk brother is very good. Especially this package includes tickets for Huangpu stage play. It is very cost-effective. It costs more than 100 yuan to buy it separately. The hotel is very new and clean.

The front desk manager Wilson and his staff Ms Chung and Ms Chan had provided us the best customer services and all the requests were kept in mind and fulfilled to the possible level. They provided with well-manner, polite and smiling faces in dealing with the enquiries raised by the customers. Real appreciated. The hotel facilities were nice. The gym was nice and cosy. However, the swimming pool was closed for renovation. The rooms were beautifully clean and comfortable. The food was nice. We enjoyed the stay and will definitely coming back to stay in your hotel.

The room's double-glazed soundproof windows ensured such quiet that at night, you could practically hear your own heartbeat. The young lady at the front desk radiated a smile warmer than the evening breeze off the Pearl River, graciously offering tea, providing clear directions, and even upgrading my room without hesitation. From my window, I had a view of the lush, green silhouette of the Canton Tower. The breakfast restaurant, adorned with hanging vines, let sunlight stream in, creating a feeling of dining in a tranquil forest. Just a five-minute walk from the subway, yet there's not a whisper of train noise, ensuring a deep sleep until dawn paints the sky red. What truly charmed me were the details: the bedding smelled like it had been sun-dried, turndown service thoughtfully left a warm glass of honey water, and even the elevator lobby carried a faint gardenia fragrance. Next time I visit Guangzhou, I'll return here simply to breathe in this tranquility again.

It seems that I really didn't choose the wrong one. I can't help but like myself. I will choose this hotel every time I travel to Guangzhou.

This stay at Guangzhou Heshe Courtyard Hotel was a pleasant surprise! Located in a quiet courtyard on Changzhou Island, it has a great atmosphere. The rooms are elegantly furnished and warm, with complete facilities and cleanliness. The service is super considerate, from the front desk to the cleaning staff. The breakfast is exquisite and delicious, and the surrounding transportation is convenient. It is very cost-effective, and I will stay here again next time I come to Guangzhou!
