Dawn Ranch

A friend has recommended the Dawn Ranch to us for a couple years now and we finally got around to taking his advice. My 9 year old and 12 year old girls got to experience a true California summer with a myriad of outdoor activities that all but got them to forget about electronic devices. Whether it was hiking the majestic Armstrong woods, floating on an inner-tube on the Russian River, or picnicking on Goat Rock beach, we were in awe of all the natural beauty that the Dawn Ranch provides, all within a stones throw. The staff was always kind and helpful. The food was so fresh and tasty! I cannot recommend this place enough if you are in need of some “get back to nature” time! Such a lovely unique experience! 10/10.

We absolutely would return to dawn ranch. The proximity to walking to downtown is very manageable. The breakfast was pricy, but delicious. The grounds are beautiful And the gentleman renting out tubes and kayaks was very helpful. He carried it all the way down for us and back up. The snores in the evening were a great evening touch with the kids. We enjoyed the outdoor games at the grove.

Every touch point was thoughtfully curated. Every sense was considered and sublime. Highly recommended resort and I will return for sure.

Great property and amenities. Had a wonderful time and got to learn some of the history of this property. Unfortunately we had several issues with service including poor housekeeping unresponsive front desk. Hope to visit again sometime once these service issues are worked out.

The grounds are beautiful, the food delicious, and the rooms very comfortable. You can also use their bicycles, kayaks, or inner tubes to explore.

We had a wonderful anniversary stay at Dawn Ranch. The property itself is beautiful, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed, and the overall atmosphere made it easy to relax and disconnect. What stood out most to us, though, was the level of hospitality from the team. During our stay, we experienced an unexpected situation, and the staff handled it with genuine care, professionalism, and urgency. We truly felt heard and taken care of, and the way management responded turned what could have been a stressful experience into one that ultimately reinforced why Dawn Ranch has such a strong reputation. Thank you to the entire team for making us feel valued as guests, we’re grateful for the kindness and exceptional customer service shown throughout our stay.

It's a good location, heart of downtown guernville, nestled in the woods and next to the river. However, the level of service, and quality of room and house keeping left much to be desired for the price range of this hotel. It's truly a 4 star hotel but charges 5 star hotel prices. I can understand the hard product (quality of the room) being what it is for in the middle of the forest, but the soft product (level of service, housekeeping) are subpar. 1 day our room was half made up. 1 day we found a cockroach chilling on my baby's milk bottles. 1 day the room was not made up at all (we were in the room for 2.5 hours from 12:30-3 but left plenty of opportunity for before and after). Overall staff was just not attentive to warrant the 5 star pricing of this place.

This property is beautiful. I loved my stay. It was very relaxing, the bed was comfortable and the room was great. The spa was so aligned with the surrounding nature, it was quaint and perfect. Heather at the front desk was so warm, welcoming and helpful and I received a massage from Faye that was in a word, transcendent. I cannot recommend her services enough. Seriously, get you a massage from Faye. I felt so taken care of and so relaxed and refreshed after leaving. Wish I could've stayed longer!

The resort is beautiful, but unfortunately we visited during a time where we were not able to enjoy many of the amenities at the resort, which in this case we did not see the cost of our stay was worth it. Keep in mind some amenities may not be available at certain times or even at all, and it may not be reflected on the website when you book.
