I went to Alaska to recoup after shoulder surgery. Curtis helped me tons, helping to figure out what I could do and how to do it! Loved the mossy hike right behind the Inn. The food was amazing! The company was delightful. It was the first solo trip I've ever taken and it was terrific! Loved the room, Hiking, Whale watching, seeing the Glacier and all the animals. So many great hikes! Thanks so much. Nanci M.

The Glacier Bay Country Inn is absolutely amazing. They provide the best setting for a fantastic fishing or Alaskan adventure. The chef Clarence provides a delicious Buffet Breakfast and an amazing Dinner. The staff is extremely accommodating while Jana, Jaylee, Chance and many others provide wonderful service and care to those who stay there. They want your dream fishing expedition to meet all expectations. We were extremely impressed with the quality of the food, services, and care provided. The beds are comfortable and the showers have continual hot water. They have all the fishing gear, just need to book with True North Fishing. While fishing with them we met our maximum salmon and halibut limit each day and are currently taking home boxes (pounds) of fish. Don’t forget your swimsuit so you can enjoy the hot tub after a long day of catching a ton of fish. You will enjoy the Glacier Bay Country Inn immensely. Would strongly recommend them.

We reviewed about 30 lodges/outfitters and chatted with 10. This was to be our trip of a lifetime and we really wanted the best experience. When we chatted with Curtis at Glacier Bay Country Inn we were totally impressed. He answered every question and even told us to avoid one of the options for a side trip. He helped us with every aspect of the trip from airline, credit cards to use and how to plan return trip to keep any fish we caught frozen! When we arrived we were very impressed with the facility, especially the new dining area. The family did the remodel themselves, even milling the huge log support timbers! The food was excellent with a fish/seafood entre option and a red meat option for each dinner. Breakfast was the best way to start a day. The chef and kitchen staff were very friendly and efficient! We took the 2 day saltwater fishing and a boat tour of Glacier Bay National Park option. The charter captain was a young man that could not have been more accomodating and was wise beyond his years in the fishing industry. He filleted the fish and GB Country Inn packed them for shipping home. This trip exceeded our expectations. While we thought this would be our trip of a lifetime, after our experience at Glacker Bay Country Inn, I can see us planning one more trip of a lifetime with them!

What a wonderful place to vacation. My son and I when to honor my late husband. Fishing in Alaska was the only thing on his bucket list. I found Glacier bay by chance and it was the perfect place, the food was excellent, Curtis and the staff were the best. They drove us to all our activities and the fishing was awesome.

My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon staying at the Glacier Bay Country Inn with Curtis and his staff, and let me tell you we had such a amazing time it was sad when it was time to leave. Everything from the servers at the restaurant, housekeeping staff, chef, charter captains, Glacier Bay tour staff and Curtis was absolutely top notch. Curtis was so accommodating when we wanted to add last minute fishing to our itinerary. The food was amazing. The bed in our private cabin was so comfortable with plenty of pillows! Our honeymoon trip did not disappoint! We will definitely be back! Thank you Curtis and staff for such an amazing service!

My husband, grandson, and son-in-law spent 5 wonderful days at GBCI at the beginning of July. Curtis and the staff (especially Jana) went above and beyond to make sure our stay was "the trip of a lifetime." Looking forward to returning for our 3rd annual trip next summer!

If you are looking for a way to unplug and get in touch with nature, this is the best place to do it. Located in a tiny hamlet called Gustavus, AK about a 20 minute plane ride from Juneau, the Glacier Bay Country Inn is the perfect base in which to begin your Alaskan adventure. The family-owned inn takes everything into account. We booked the 4-Day Combo Adventure Package and we didn't have to plan a single thing. We were delivered and picked up for every excursion. The guides were all experts in their fields and so engaging. Natalie was our fire-cracker, fresh-water fishing guide, Steven took us on an amazing kayak trip and hike and Allen was the bomb on our halibut trip! We spent our 4th day on a National Park guided tour through Glacier Bay NP! Breakfasts are made to order, homemade donuts, fresh bread for toast and literally the best bacon I've ever had. Lunches are usually brown-bag as you will be off on some adventure in the National Park! Fresh-baked cookies, chicken salad with crunchy bits of apples and veggies in the mix, all on sandwich rolls made fresh by the in-house chef! Dinner... where do I even start??? During breakfast you will find a small card with the nightly dinner menu on it. Everyone is given 2 choices of an appetizer and 2 choices for dinner. They were all nothing short of spectacular. The roasted mushroom bisque and crab bisque rivaled soups I have had at some of the best restaurants in Orange County, CA. The Halibut Rockefeller was probably 2 inches thick and cooked to perfections. Other options we enjoyed were Dungeness crab, shrimp scampi, and prime rib. The piece de resistance were the desserts... all homemade, delectable and the perfect ending to dinner. (The caramel sauce was to die for!!!) Book a trip here... the memories will last a lifetime.

When I first read about Glacier Bay Country Inn online, it sounded almost too good to be true, but now I've been there and I can report that our experience even exceed our high expectations! The difference here are the people who run the inn, including the owner Curtis and his family, and everyone who works there. We felt so special! You feel like they've just been waiting for you to arrive and they do everything in their power to make your time in Gustavus wonderful. We enjoyed the firepit and covered patio every day, visiting with other guests and just relaxing, and the food...oh the food is something I will always remember! Everyone looks forward to the three-course dinner and the fresh homemade bread every night! And then the breakfast with the fresh homemade donuts, oh my goodness! We also enjoyed the tours that were part of our package and oh by the way, the staff at Glacier Bay drives you there and picks you up/drops you off at the airport! We stayed 3 nights and we wish we had booked a longer trip at this lodge. So yes, believe all of the amazing reviews of this place, and don't hesitate to go!

We had the privilege of staying at the Glacier Bay Country Inn in June of 2021. My father and two sons went with me. The staff is second to none. We really enjoyed the extremely comfortable accommodations. The on-site chef created extraordinary meals that we all devoured. The itinerary they planned for us was perfect to maximize our time. My boys loved the on-site game room that entertained us for hours. I still laugh to think of my dad playing my boys in ping pong. If you want to blown away by impeccable service, amazing food, extremely comfortable accommodations, and the most beautiful scenery on earth then do yourself a favor and book your trip ASAP. You will not be disappointed. We were able to catch our limit of halibut and salmon, which we now pull from our freezer to cook up and it is delicious!!!! There is no better option and I’m already looking forward to going back. Brad C.
