Great place to stay and visit! We loved everything about Hacienda Guachipelin. The staff was amazing, the pool and poolside bar were lovely, the breakfast and dinner buffets were terrific, and the amenities (hot pools, waterfalls, walking paths) were spectacular. In hindsight, we would have booked a few more days here.

This was a nice pace to visit. We were on the beaches for days, was a nice break to go to the mountains. Go hiking we saw many animals.

I actually went in August 2022 but forgot to leave a review. While isolated, this is a beautiful property , with good restaurants, beautiful grounds and friendly staff. A wide variety of activities to choose from kept us active the whole time.We really enjoyed our hike at the volcano, our horseback ride to La Oropendola Waterfall, and visiting the hot springs and mud bath! so fun. This was our first stop on a 2 week adventure and it was a great place to see when travelling in Costa Rica

My family of 5 truly enjoyed our experience at Hacienda Guachipelin!! The staff were friendly, the rooms were modern and clean, and we were amazed by all of the incredible amenities and attractions that came with our stay! We only stayed for one night, we spent an entire day exploring. We truly loved the Hot Springs and mud bath, and the hike/walk to Oropendola waterfall is a must, so magical! We also hiked around the national park, the entrance is just past the waterfall. We had an incredible day! We highly recommend this hotel and would definitely come back!

TL:DR - If you are travelling with kids in the Guancaste region, go! The kids in our group had an absolute blast!!! We did an Adventure Day pass and were a family of 14 with mixed ages and abilities. Everyone did everything. This is not an "explore untapped Costa Rica" adventure. It is a highly efficient tour where they keep you moving from one activity to another. The favorites were the water tubing and ziplining. It felt thrilling enough for the middle aged folks and the kids were loving every minute. The lunch was delicious with plenty of options and was on a nice terrace. My only "eh" about the whole day was the horseback riding. It was the first thing we did and although I am sure the animals are well-taken care of, it just didn't feel necessary. The trail was short so it was like 30 people crammed with their animals and then it was done. I wish we could have ala carte'd what we wanted to do. They are serious about their closed-toe shoes. You'll have to spend $20 if you try to wear flip flops.

Adquirimos el pase del día, las instalaciones son muy bonitas y ordenadas, sin embargo hace falta que alguien te guíe desde el Parqueo porque uno no sabe a dónde dirigirse, fuimos a la recepción y nos devolvieron El buffet fue algo decepcionante al 100%, cero variedad de platillos, comida muy simple y básica para Ser un hotel
