It did what it had to do. A bed to sleep in, a bath to bathe in, hot water during the season, very clean and good disposable amenities to use.
For the cost of the stay, its worth it.
However its pretty much away from convenience for people who wants to walk around town after going to the area to take your photos. Its a pretty dry part around the hotel except for the Tax free shop which was amazing.
Further up nearer to Hakodate station is where majority of the Izakaya and food shops can be located after 6pm

Have been staying here ever since I first travelled in Hakodate, and I have to say it's still as good as before. The hotel is located minutes away from a tram station and just beside the Red Brick Warehouse area. Towels and amenities are provided, bunk room and bed are big and comfortable.
Will continue staying at this hotel when I come back again in the future.

Deep guided tour of Hakodate. The hotel is right by the sea. Such beautiful ocean views, and on the other side, it's very convenient to get to the top of Mount Hakodate.

Lovely hotel. People working here are really kind and will do their best to recommend places you want to see. Close enough to old town (a little bit of a walk) but more local area. Possible to walk to the morning market and JR Station (about 15 minutes) and there's other restaurants quite close by as well (including one that is famous for the salt ramen of Hakodate). The hostel itself was clean, and comfortable. Hakodate was wonderful to visit for a few nights as well and I could have easily stayed longer at this hostel!

This hostel 's location is excellent. You can walk to major tourist attractions in Hakkodate. It is very convenient. The room is a bit dark and no view due to temporary renovation. We slept well at night. I highly recommend this hostel.

First off, the location of this guesthouse is fantastic. It's only a three-minute walk to the Kanemori Red Brick Warehouses, and getting to other places is also convenient. The front desk staff was very welcoming and helpful; I really appreciate their assistance.
