This property is in an amazing and prime location for Hadrian’s all exploration. Close to the best preserved parts of the wall with great amenities nearby. Hosts Ian and Kate are exceptionally helpful and accommodating. Room was magnificent and breakfasts incredible! Just get here !

An excellent place to stay with friendly and helpful owners Ian and Kate. The building is quirky and tastefully decorated. There is great attention to detail in the adornment making it interesting to look at. The bathroom was large and nicely tiled. The breakfast was to die for, it’s highlights being the home made muesli, individual cafetières, china crockery and very tasty avocado and poached eggs!

It was great to catch up with Kate & Ian for our second visit. The review scores for this B&B are not an exaggeration as the hosts are clearly seeking out perfection in all aspects, particularly the hospitality shown and the breakfast on offer. We use it as a Scotland stop-over and to us, its worth the drive from the M6, but the outstanding Northumbrian scenery makes it a destination in its own right. Can't recommend highly enough.

My son and I stayed here while walking part of Hadrian's wall in very wet and cold conditions, so really appreciated Ian and Kate's warm welcome and space for drying our wet, muddy clothes and boots. Because of its location and proximity to the A122 bus stop it's the perfect base for 3 nights on the Hadrian's wall hike but it's very worthwhile staying here anyway for that warm welcome, the delicious breakfast and super-comfortable beds. The rooms ticked my box because in addition to all the normal things, they include a small fridge, herbal teas and conditioner as well as shampoo. A visit to the nearby Roman excavation site and museum at Vindolanda was fascinating and the wild Northumbrian scenery all around is spectacular. Ian and Kate are delightful hosts - friendly and considerate. We'll come again.

The best bed and breakfast I have stayed in. Kate and Ian were wonderful hosts. The bedroom/bathroom had everything - small fridge with fresh milk, toiletries, home made cookies each day on our return. Beautiful breakfast. Fresh fruit was available to take with you if desired. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts.

Top notch B&B. Ideal accommodation, absolutely spotless, comfortable king-size bed with quality linen, towels and all the little extras. Tea, coffee, homemade biscuits and fresh milk and water in the room. Great to have a lounge area with lots of books and magazines. Lovely, welcoming people, and absolutely superb breakfasts. Ideally situated for exploring Northumberland and Hadrian's wall. Highly recommended.

Had a wonderful 2 night stay at this great place. Breakfast was well above expectations with a very good choice. The hosts were cheerful and friendly and answered our questions about the local area. Rooms were spacious and well equipped with a large and comfortable bathroom. There was even a piece of cake waiting in the room when we arrived !! There was also a comfortable lounge to sit in with plenty of books and literature to help you in the area . We would stay there again at the drop of a hat !!

Lovely quirky place. Spotlessly clean room and communal area. Breakfast was lovely and lots of choice. Hosts very friendly and warm. Lovely little touches by the lovely hosts such as fresh milk in the fridge and freshly baked lemon cake. Good location for Haltwhistle and a day of walking. Couldn't fault our stay at all.

Ian and Kate are wonderful hosts, they couldn't do enough for us! Our bedroom was quiet despite being just off the lounge / dining room where breakfast is served in the morning, and the room had so many thoughtful touches like homemade brownies, and a kettle for making hot drinks as well as a mini fridge for fresh milk. Kate gave us such a warm welcome despite us arriving around 8pm, and gave us recommendations for where to find a late dinner. Our ensuite bathroom was immaculately clean and the shower very powerful - just what we needed after a long day of hiking. In the morning we were spoilt for choice with the largest variety of breakfast options we'd enjoyed that week, from cereals and homemade granola, to fruit salad, full English breakfasts and poached eggs with avocado. Juices, teas, coffees - everything was provided and both Ian and Kate work hard to ensure all guests are having a fantastic experience - it's a really special place. They even offered to give us a lift in their car back to the Hadrian's Wall Path to continue our hike. We'd HIGHLY recommend this place as it was our favourite by far along the route, hopefully we'll return for another stay in the future. Thank you so much again for everything, Ian and Kate!
