Hotels Near Kleine Fockenweide in Hamburg

OK - it's still the furniture I knew from the time when it was the Forum Hotel. And that's very long ago. But in autumn the renovation is supposed to go. The reception was very friendly. It's been really fun. I have a beautiful room with beautiful views of the city. Unfortunately, very much is built so that you may not be able to look at the elbe at all next time. Unfortunately. This time there was even a process that was close. Until the water pressure (15th floor) the shower was all right. But this is natural and there was no standard. I was surprised at breakfast. Besides the friendly staff, which quickly cleaned, the offer was very versatile. I asked: the fricadels tasted as they did (burned apple pieces) and not for convenience. But you didn't want to make yourself with foreign pearls and thought it was convenience. But it was all very good. I will put the hotel more in my focus once I'm back in Hamburg.

All in all the hotel is quite good, unfortunately some shortcomings put it to average for us. Upon check in, was asked at the reception whether we were Covid vaccinated 2 or 3 times. The certificate itself was barely looked at and no QR code scan was done. During our 3 nights stay, this was correctly done when entering Restaurant for breakfast, so why not at first contact point Reception? Upon entering our room (336), immediately noticed that it was rather cold inside. Normal if a window is open and aircon set at lowest level… Noticed as well that some empty shopping paper bags and some used brochures had most probably been forgotten during cleaning. In fact the bags were rather big and could not be overseen… Worse however were 2 used plastic cups in the bathroom, once again impossible to oversee them! The room itself was quite ok if you do not consider some stains on carpet and chair, however the very small wardrobe is kind of bad joke. ONE small storage compartment for a double room and no other storage possibilities in the room is far from standard! Breakfast on Sunday morning was rather chaotic with a completely full restaurant. Why not attribute time slots in order to avoid such a situation? This is done in some hotels and is rather helpful. On the day of our departure, somebody knocked at our room door at 08.45 am. Quite astonished that it was the cleaning lady who asked at what time we would leave... Had never experienced such acting in any other hotel also considering the check-out time of 11.00 am

This is from an American perspective. I found the room rather small - with a Queen bed being the largest bed size, and not much room for anything else in the room. The bathroom was adequate enough - no major complaints there. The bedding (including pillows) was not up to Marriott standards in my opinion. The A/C was a joke. It did not matter what temp or setting I used - it was always the same temperature. I had to open/close the window to adjust the room temp. The TV was a decent size, but they only had 3 English channels - BBC/CNN/CNBC. So no English entertainment channels. The only other option was Youtube channel - to watch video clips. No Netflix or other apps where you can sign in with your own account. Also - no closet/no drawers/no coffee maker/no mini-fridge/no ice bucket nor ice machine. This hotel is also not around much. There is a supermarket within walking distance, but there are some shady people along the way. Also a couple of random restaurants near the market - but not for a decent meal. You would need to walk about a mile to get to some decent places to eat. The breakfast was good with lots of options. And the best part of this hotel was the staff. They were all very friendly and always eager to assist.

The positive in advance: The staff at the Hotel Olde Wachty are all very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, it was then too. The hotel is completely outdated and down. The furniture is dewed and shady. The single room was mini small. The bedroom was still the best at the room. It was clean. I had a room to a backyard. The window had to be open at night because of lack of air conditioning. However, there was a bar in a building in front of the courtyard, which also played sound music Sunday morning. So, with quietness, no trace. The breakfast room looked like in long last days. On the second day, no table covers were even laid, only the tables were laid. The breakfast buffet included a variety of salami and a variety (the cheapest) sauce, stone hard cooked eggs and a bit of musli and honey, as well as nutella (the real). So very, very desperate. The hotel is well located, near the main station and near the long line. Underground and other public transportation are fast reachable. A second stay I would not book there.

The hotel isn't quite finished yet, but I still felt very comfortable there. The location is great, you can quickly walk to the Alster or take the subway to the city center. There are many practical details in the hotel (kitchen in the room, water dispenser in the breakfast room). The staff is very friendly. Especially for only 3 nights, I thought it was great that no room service was included - you really don't need it in such a short time. The breakfast contained everything you need to start the day. The only thing I missed was a kind of bedside table next to the bed and salt/pepper shakers on the tables at breakfast - there was only one on the buffet, which is a bit impractical. Great location. Easy to get around and get back to the place at night. If you're a light sleeper I wouldn't recommend the shared rooms, people coming back late at night, the doors close quite loudly. My only complaint is that I received a keycard to the wrong room and walked right into a private suite.. Nobody was there thankfully and I just walked right out, but if I were staying in a private room I would hate to think that strangers could just walk into my room where all my belongings are lying around. Otherwise clean and quite a cool environment.

Hmmm, it’s a near-brand-new hotel… and it shows. The room and bathroom were immaculate. In fact, the huge shower room felt quite palacial. Lots of glitches that I’m sure will be addressed over the next couple of months. (1) Nespresso machine sits perfectly on a cabinet but there is no electrical socket so the machine had to be moved onto the floor across the room. (2) No milk/creamer, so we had to trek to reception. (3) Safe inoperable as it was locked shut (4) Despite given two room keys we were advised that we should always use the same one for the lifts otherwise it causes problems. Great location so close to the station. Lovely breakfast - very typical Novotel selection. Definitely recommended

Ideal für die Anreise mit der Bahn, einmal an Planten und Bloomen vorbei und man steht vor dem Hotel. Durch das vorab einchecken ging das Einchecken im Hotel sehr schnell. Es gab noch die Fahrkarten für den Personennahverkehr für die Dauer des Hotelaufenthaltes. Unser Zimmer im 11. Stock hatte den Blick auf Planten und Bloomen und die Alster, perfekt. Im Zimmer gab es einen Wasserkocher für die Kaffee und Tee Zubereitung. Das Frühstück war sehr umfangreich mit verschiedenen Brötchen, 2 Sorten Brot, Kuchenvariation, 4 Sorten Käse, 2 Sorten Camenbert, Frischkäse und verschiedene Salate, S*****en, Salami, Kochs*****en, Leberwurst, warme Würstchen, mehrere Sorten Joghurt und Quark, Eier, Obstsalat und Säfte und eine Spezialitäten Kaffeemaschine. Wir kommen gerne wieder, ideal für einen Aufenthalt zum nutzen der öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel, mit der Karte kann man auch die Hafenfähren nutzen.

Positive: From the price performance perspective it is a nice hotel to stay overnight or at most two nights. Clean rooms and bedding. Small rooms, but comfortable. A very nice local bar/pub beside the hotel where you can eat, drink and watch sport games Negative: Not enough electric sockets. None beside or close to the beds. Hardtime if you have sleeping aid machine. I had to ask an extension cable and multi socket and they provided. Car parking in 5 min walking distance not a big deal, but dropping off or loading your luggages at the front door of the hotel is problematic. Either you block the bike road or sidewalk or have to stay in a paid park area. Each time you get punished by local people :) The worst thing we experienced was the outage of the internet and they could not fix it in 48 hours.

We found this great small hotel in New Wulmstorf and we were very happy to find a so beautiful and tasty house. The rooms are spacious, very nicely furnished and absolutely clean. Although our room was on the Bundesstraße, we have not got anything from the street, thanks to the multi-glass windows. The room is with a small Nespresso machine so you can make a coffee in the morning and enjoy it relaxedly in bed. The bathroom is also well cut. The shower with glass doors is large and there is no water running out when doing the shower - which is unfortunately often the case in many hotels. The staff are very premature, polite and helpful. As our relatives live nearby, we will certainly visit this pleasant hotel more often.
