I am a US traveler on business. I have visited Kashoen before and based on my experiences it is the only hotel I will ever stay at in Hanamaki. The hotel staff are the kindest, most caring, and passionate people I have met at a hotel. The amenities are fantastic, the hotel food is phenomenal, and my stay is always relaxing. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. There is a nice nature trail nearby with a river that is beautiful as well. If you are in Hanamaki or are looking for somewhere to enjoy a peaceful weekend at, I suggest Kashoen.

One night and two meals, a perfect Japanese hot spring trip.

The quality of the restaurant is excellent, the staff are very friendly and courteous, making you feel very comfortable, and the food is also great👍This time I came during the cherry blossom season, and I want to come back during the maple leaf season~

I stayed in a standard Japanese-style room. The room was spacious, the view from the window was great, and the staff were very friendly. The large public bath was equipped with several types of shampoo treatments, and the spring water was the thickest I've ever had, and the breakfast was also luxurious, which surprised me.

I made a reservation from the site on the day of my stay. You were very flexible with a lot of things. The inside of the hotel was very quiet and calm. The large communal bath was perfect, and there were many shampoos and treatments available, and the quality of the springs was very good, and the amenities were perfect. What surprised me was that there was a case with a key under the basket for changing clothes, so I thought it was well maintained for crime prevention. I was very satisfied with the hot spring and the meal. I would like to use it again next time.

I heard that it was designated by the royal family, so I went to experience it~ The service staff in the hotel are very polite and thoughtful, and the room is also great! It’s just that the price is really high…

Possibly the best experience I have ever had staying at a hotel. The ambiance when you walk in is peaceful and almost spiritual. The room I had was apartment sized with its own onsen and dining room for which we had a 9 course dinner served to us as well as breakfast the following morning. We had our own assistant who looked after us every step of our stay. The hotel had amazing central garden with snow covered forest surrounding which made it even more cosy. I decided to use the in house onsen to try the larger hot pools which was equally relaxing as our in room smaller one. The food, service and experience was out of this world and highly recommended.

Visited in March 2023 for a family event, and didn't book this hotel myself so wasn't sure to expect. But.. wow! One of my favourite visits to a ryokan in Japan. First and foremost, the staff were all kind and extremely friendly. Particularly the lady who served us our wonderful kaiseki meal in a stunning huge private dining area. We ate in the same room the following morning for breakfast, which was equally delicious, and once more the staff were lovely. Enjoyed the coffee service sitting in the lobby before we left, so relaxing. We stayed in a comfortable and large Japanese style room with futons, the bedroom was very good. Most of all I think the location and ambience of this hotel makes it one of my favourites. There's a wonderful courtyard-esque area near the lobby with a stunning view, and it appeared to have large lanterns that are likely lit during the evening time (I didn't see this myself). Overall, this place makes for a great experience in Iwate and the staff and food are A***.

This is my second time using it. It was a room with a semi-open-air. The hot spring was a thick alkaline spring. There was also a sauna in the public bath. I was able to do it slowly. Dinner was served in the room, but breakfast was served at the dining hall. Both were delicious.

We stayed for two nights in a room with a semi-open-air bath as a birthday present for my daughter. The large public bath and room amenities were all there, and we could go to the large public bath empty-handed, so we were very satisfied with the service. The portions were just right and we were able to eat slowly in the room, and since breakfast wasn't crowded, we were able to eat slowly in the quiet. I felt that the hair dryer in the room could be as convenient as the one in the large public bath, but I would like to use it again if I have the opportunity.

The room was very nice with a twin room and a half open-air bath, and I was very satisfied. I was satisfied with the dinner, which was served in the room and enjoyed it at a leisurely pace, but I was surprised by the breakfast! I couldn't stand the poor quality of the food that was prepared, even though we were not on a group tour. The food was dreary and there was nothing I wanted to eat. What do you think about a 38,000 yen accommodation fee? Are you being conceited by the name Kashoen? I would like you to improve a lot of things. The scores in the reviews are too high.

This is an inn with nothing to say. The waitresses are very friendly and kind, the meals are all delicious even with the small-course plan, and the breakfast is sumptuous. Everything is clean and well-maintained, the water is thick and leaves your skin smooth. The bath facilities are excellent, the showers are new, and there are many options for shampoos and other products, making it fun and comfortable. They are not at all pushy, and even when I asked the front desk about walking trails in the autumn leaves, they showed me outside, and my parents, who went with me, were impressed by their hospitality. I would definitely like to visit again.

The quality of the hot springs, the cleaning of the rooms, the selection of amenities, etc. are impeccable. However, the air conditioning at dinner on the first night was too effective, and the first voice was "It's cold!" . I stayed two more nights, but the timing of serving the food for dinner on the second night was too late. It's a pity it doesn't keep up with our fast pace of eating. The customer service attitude of the male staff who seems to be a clerk is also dissatisfied. I used to like this ryokan, but this time I'm disappointed.
