Alpine Holiday Apartments & Campground

Loved staying here for a week with family over Xmas & New Year. We had our caravan and our family stayed in an apartment at the grounds. Bike & walking trails are right next door and it's only a couple of minutes to the Township. The peace and quiet was brilliant. Our grandchildren made lots of new friends while camping. A good "old fashioned" camping ground. Tracey and Tony were most welcoming and we would certainly stay again. Thanks for the wonderful holiday :)

Oldish but very clean and functional. Great covered parking for my motorcycle. Nice and quiet. The room kept nice and warm. Very clean toilets and showers. Tracey was very friendly and helpful. Walking around the grounds you could see it is all well maintained.

Really enjoyed our short stay, we had originally booked for two nights but ended up staying just one due to weather and wanting to return home. Our accommodation was basic but very clean and suited our budget. Nice curtains by the way Tracy! :) Tracy couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay again and would highly recommend.

Just stayed at the Alpine apartments and holiday park. Booked for two nights as we were horse riding in the morning. Unfortunately the horse riding was cancelled due to weather so we had no reason to stay the second night. We left a day early and thought we would receive a refund. We were told no as it was not in the cancelation period and they were running a business. I completely understand this if they were fully booked and had to turn bookings away, however we were were the ONLY ones in the tenting area. A little common sense would be nice. The horse riding gave us a full refund and we will return in February to try again. We would also have rebooked at the camping ground had they been a little more amenable. Unfortunately I'll now book somewhere else.

We recently stayed in Smithy Cottage So comfortable and rustic we did not want to leave. The camp has beautiful grounds, room was super clean & had everything we needed. Thanks again Tracey & Tony for a fabulous stay.

Lovely hosts very accommodating, beautiful and quiet such a lovely place to camp, lots of amazing walks just over the road and the dog loved it, short walk into town, large sites for the caravan definitely our new go to camp ground thank you

Highly recommend NOT going here. We and a group booked the Smithy cabin. Apart from the oven being VERY slow it was fine. Previous bad reviews of it being cold have been fixed and had good heaters. Couch and bed was comfortable, linen was clean. Our problem is with the owner (the lady). We checked the website and it said check-in was 830am onwards, the same as their office hours. The owner VERY angrily shouted at us that check in time was on on the door (2pm). Given that her door is approximately 178km from my house, I was unable to read the door..... The website has since been updated but she was very rude about it. Our 2nd issue is she emailed us the total costs ($140) before we arrived and we agreed on that price. The enal was very clear and named each of us who was staying. However after our trip we checked our visa and she had taken $200, so an extra $60. On calling her and asking why we were overcharged, she again got out her angry voice and told us her computer had undercharged us too and she took what we owed. When asked why she didn't at least contact us to inform us she was taking extra money and why, she replied that her computer made the mistake and not her so she didn't need to tell us. Below is a screen shot of the website on the day we arrived, showing check time is at office hours, with office hours being 830am-830pm. I've included a screenshot as the owner denied her website was incorrect in a previous review and said the check in time was clearly stated and correct, which it wasn't a the time (bit is now).

Hi we had a cabin and found this, well appointed, very warm and comfortable. From check in time (which we complied with) until our departure 3 days later we thoroughly enjoyed the amenities location and our stay overall. Our hosts Tracy and Tony went out of their way to make us welcome. As a result of a serious medical even involving our grand daughter in the middle of the night, they both went out of their way to deal with all associated issues. We thank them for their help and for making our visit very memorable, (could have done without the medical event but all is well now) On our next South Island trip we will be sure to stay there again. Thank you Tracy and Tony.

This campground offers a quiet location near the forest. We were in a camper so can’t comment on the apartments. The grounds, playground and amenities need some maintenance. Bathroom and laundry areas could be cleaner.
