Luxury Old Quarter Hotel & Gym

The hotel is in a very convenient location in the Old Quarter. The cleaning crew needs some training. Everyday, there's some spot in the room that they don't do properly. On the day i moved in, there was a pair of socks the previous guy left behind in the cupboard. 😅 Other than that, the hotel is great! The free breakfast buffet also comes with pho for my daily pho fix! Oh yeah, on the 3rd day the Aircon broke down. They promptly moved me to another room. No fuss. 😁

The hotel was nice. Very well located and the staff were good. Very close to the famous Train Street.

Staff was top notch! Everyone was so attentive and helpful! We got the airport shuttle service 2x (pick-up/drop-off) and it was stellar service. Laundry service (for extra fee) is also a big plus, our clothes were fresh and perfectly perfumed and packaged. Breakfast was very good and they even provided us some delicious takeaway sandwiches for our mega early flight in the morning. We had an upgrade the first night for free to try a room with a balcony. Both the upgraded room and our originally booked room were cozy, clean and comfortable, with a great air conditioning to escape the crazy Hanoi heat. The hotel also has motorcycles to rent for 10€ a day, which was super convenient. Overall great experience, would highly recommend for anyone going to Hanoi.

Nice stay, reasonably sized room, easy check in, good location

Our stay got off to a disappointing start. When we arrived at around 5:00 AM, the room we had reserved was not available, so we were placed in a different room for the first night. The reception area was dark, there were no lights on, and no staff were readily available as the receptionist appeared to be asleep, which made for a rather unusual and unwelcoming arrival experience. Later that day, we were informed that an additional charge of USD 10 per child was required, despite the booking platform clearly stating that children stay free of charge. The hotel management also attempted to provide us with two single beds instead of the two twin beds specified in our reservation. It was only after I presented my booking confirmation and supporting evidence that the issue was resolved. We were eventually upgraded to a family room with one king bed and one single bed, which we appreciated, but this was a problem that should never have occurred in the first place. Overall, while the issues were eventually addressed, the check-in process and room allocation were unnecessarily stressful and did not match what had been confirmed in our reservation.

Additionally, the hotel is situated in a fantastic, highly convenient neighborhood. * **The Downside:** The property and its facilities are quite old and are starting to show their age. **Verdict:** A solid stay driven by a great location and helpful staff, but the hotel itself is overdue for an update.

I arrived early and wanted to leave late, the staff were extremely helpful, and even upgraded my room to improve my stay. I am australain, so communication is not always easy, but the staff made every effort and everything went smoothly with easy understanding. I was very happy with the great value of my stay with Ibis.

Located inside the old quarter of Hanoi city, the hotel surrounding is noisy, messy, traffic heavy and a little bit smelly. However, it is good place to stay who enjoy downtown messiness an authentic Vietnamese lifestyle.
