Landoll's Mohican Castle

Unique and beautiful, this castle will delight anyone with an eye for beauty. Set apart, private and quiet, you can roam the grounds and gardens for hours delighting in the flora and scents. The staff is friendly and accommodating and you can buy a bottle of wine and snack in the castle lobby to take on your walkabout. The rooms are large and unique with outdoor tables or decks. We enjoyed staying on the site and eating in the restaurant on site. No one was disappointed! Get away from the crowds on the main road and find a peaceful, fulfilling, reprieve from the ordinary. Kids, especially, will love it!

We stayed in The Stables, which is supposed to be a"luxury suite". It was lacking even some basic items (luggage rack, comfortable chair, etc). There is no free breakfast. The shared terrace is really a metal table on the sidewalk. I expected more for almost $500 for two nights. The lady at check out said that The Stables rooms are really just regular hotel rooms. I've had much better regular hotel rooms. What a disappointment!

The staff at the Castle were very accommodating to us on a short notice. Did everything in their power to make sure we had a great experience. Joe and Chelsea made sure everything ran smoothly during our group function and helped us throughout the entire process.

This is a beautiful property. While I did not stay inside the castle my suite had charm. It had the most interesting design on the ceiling I heard it had been done by local residents using their fingers in the spackling. The restaurant on site is quaint with delicious food and friendly wait staff. There were a few things in my suite that needed attention ( no vent in the bathroom) it seemed as if the switch was broken. There was a crack in the bottom of the jacuzzi tub, I noticed once I was in there. No holder for a hand towel by the sink in the bathroom and very tiny trash cans. I did have an amazing relaxation massage by a wonderful professional. I plan to return in the warmer months to take advantage of the outdoor activities. Overall a wonderful experience!

This is such a unique & interesting property in Ohio. I absolutely loved the rustic charm. The restaurant was pretty good as well. The only issue was the noise up above our suite in the castle, but we called the after hours desk & they stopped it immediately. I suggest the top floor or a cabin if you are sensitive to noise.

Very unique property. Lovely even in February. Rooms are beautiful. Breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurant, all delicious. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Very close to Holmes County and Mohican State Park. You can be a princess in the castle 😊

We had a wonderful stay. The staff was super friendly even told us which suites are their personal favs! The Ross suite was fabulous for our little birthday adventure. The room and areas we were in were very clean and well maintained. The pool has a waterfall y’all! We will stay here again!

Gorgeous setting, exterior landscaping and building very well-kept. However, that's where the honeymoon ended. Staff seemed disinterested at best, with the exception of Roger, our waiter at the Copper Mug. He was a delight! Room was beautiful, but poorly maintained. Blood stain on the coverlet of the bed, dripping shower head was maddening at night, freezer was all frosted over, sink drain was mostly clogged, toilet didn't flush well, cracked sink, and the tub jets and body sprays were broken with a sign saying 'please don't use'. The pool area was very cool, but the "hot tub" was essentially a hot bath. I asked how to turn on the jets, they said "There are none, the water just 'percolates'". It HAD jets, they were just not functional. The Copper Mug Restaurant was disappointing as well. From the apathetic hostess to the indifferent manager, I've had better service at Bob Evans. While waiting for a table, we sat at the bar for about 15 minutes without being acknowledged or offered a drink. I get it, places are understaffed, but to have waitstaff literally standing in front of you without as much as a hello is just weird. And lastly, the bathroom was filthy, just to add to the experience. Overall, for the HUGE price tag, this was a colossal disappointment. I'd try Glen Laurel in Hocking Hills, similar price, so much better.

This was our 7th stay at the castle during the holidays, and we loved it just as much as we have the last 6 years!! We stayed in the Lawrence Suite, and this was definitely one of our favorite suites so far (we stay in a different suite every year)!! The suite is divided into two parts by a large stone doublesided fireplace. When you enter the suite, on one side of the fireplace is a lovely sitting room with a couch, coffee table, chair, TV along with a small kitchen area with a table/chairs. It was SO cozy to sit in front of the fire and just relax while looking out at the lights. (NOTE: be prepared for passersby to take a peak in your window as the room is on the first floor on the path around the castle). The bedroom and bathroom are on the other side of the fireplace...cozy bed!! We did have an issue with water escaping the glass shower door, but made mention of the issue upon checkout. The shower is super tiny...likely based on the room layout as the suites are all "tetrised" together. We always enjoy the holiday lights/decorations, which add to the magic of the castle!! If you are looking for special place to get away to destress for the holidays, highly recommend a stay here!! Special shoutout to Skye who was super welcoming and informative/helpful when we checked in!! Also, kudos to the GM, Joe who followed up with us on our bathroom issue and responded to feedback I provided following our visit. GREAT to know that this gem has some super caring people!!
