Needed somewhere to stay for work. Booking in advance was easy and loved the included breakfast and WiFi. Rooms could do with a bit of love, everything looks very old and less than half the lights were working. However, the service from staff and amenities provided made up for the room.

Had a great stay and enjoyed a very nice Sunday lunch. The goats cheese salad was delicious as was the generous half roast chicken Good size hotel bedrooms, clean and comfy beds. Currently renovating all their en-suite bathrooms. Highly recommend

Ik schok toen ik de matige reviews had gelezen. Toen ontdekte ik dat de data vrij oud waren. Dit hotel is intussen prachtig gerenoveerd. Smaakvol ingerichte kamers en ook het ontbijt was super lekker. Een hotel met boutique karakter. Zeer aan te raden. Het eten in de gezellige pub was erg lekker. Wij komen volgend jaar weer.

I treated myself to a really delightful ploughmans and chips tonight as was starving after a mammoth drive from Cornwall and even had a yummy dessert sticky toffee pudding and custard too. I would highly recommend the pub food. There is plenty of parking space and the tables are well spaced out for the different guests.

Arrived @18.30 and was quickly checked into our Deluxe room . Nice clean room but did smell a bit musty. Nice to have a small sofa but a shame the spa bath wasn't working which we wanted to use. The staff did help and gave us a little reduction.The room does need a little T.L.C. and fix the spa bath..but it's a very nice room and quiet location. The staff were very helpful and worked hard to accommodate our needs.The bar and restaurant were clean and very oldie worldie with a nice a**osphere. The food was nice for the evening meal and the breakfast was spot on. I would stay here again as its a nice location and met our expectations but does need a little touch up here and there..

I love to stay in older buildings and the rate appeared reasonable. On driving into the car park it looked lovely and very promising, however after that it went rapidly downhill. We checked in around 3pm, we were given our key to our double room, on entering it was not cleaned from the previous visitor. We were then given the key to room 5. It had a double bed (smaller than the one booked) and a zbed which we didn’t need, so not sure why it wasn’t put away?! On returning from our evening out, my partner sat on the bed, and said it felt lumpy, the base is actually broken. So not at all comfortable. The place seems very neglected, the room was dusty, stained curtains, not hung correctly, cracked bath panel, dirty poorly applied grouting. No real sense of customer service. Breakfast good options, basic but ok. At no point throughout our stay did anyone ask if everything was ok? Probably because they know the answer they would get.

Friendly staff, room was clean and had everything we needed Could do with some darker curtains as it was very light when we were trying to get to sleep Breakfast was really nice and lots of choices Pet friendly is a massive bonus…lots of places around to walk the dogs

Lunch 13 November. Starter: squid is normally a bit chewy but this beats all records. Couldn't even get a knife through it. Main: sirloin steak like a leather boot. Not edible, left it. Waitress response poor. She offered to replace steak but I declined. She said I ate the squid so it couldn't have that bad! I should have been offered a discount, or at better an apology from the manager but non was forthcoming. I won't go there again.

What a brilliant independent hotel, warm welcome, great food, decent room and a good nights sleep before a working day. Quiet location and with ample parking. Will be a regular visitor in the coming months.
