We made a very last minute decision to go skiing at Killington and the only hotels around Killington were twice as expensive, run-down, and didn't have a pool or breakfast. It is about an hour drive to Killington but for us it was worth it (over an hour if you get behind folks going under the speed limit which happens a lot in VT). It is also an easy drive to Dartmouth College and the Upper Valley Aqua Center (with indoor splash park for kids - year-round and $10 for kids/$17 adults) is a two-minute drive away. Woodstock is 14 miles or about 25-30 minutes away ($30 in Uber when I checked), Dartmouth Coach bus station in Lebanon is 12 minutes, and Whaleback Mountain is 15-20 minutes or so. Hampton Inn provides pretty consistent quality across its hotels. The beds were comfortable and this place had a lot of fluffy pillows (excellent for pillow fights). Standard room amenities - microwave, large-mini fridge, small coffee maker, iron, desk, wall-mounted TV that swivels, etc. The room was fairly spacious for two-queens, but it would be really tight with a crib added. No tub, just a large shower that took awhile to heat up. We were at the end of the hallway so no noise. The room had black-out curtains. The pool was small but sufficient for about 8-10 kids at once (I think the most there when we were there). It was very chlorinated though and it was hard on my skin. It was an ok temperature - kind of chilly but not too cold. Gas fireplace in the lobby with some seating. Breakfast was also in the lobby area. Standard Hampton Inn breakfast - eggs (hardboiled and scrambled/omelet), potatoes, sausage, waffles, breads/muffins/bagels, cereals, fruits, juice, milks, almond milk, and coffee/tea. There are lots of restaurant choices within a 5-7 minute drive between White River Junction and West Lebanon, NH.
