The best hotel I've ever stayed in. Swinton Park Hotel, on the expansive, lush, Swinton Estate, is the epitome of English elegance. The facility is family-owned, with eccentric artwork and history in every room. The grounds, populated by deer, sheep, horses and an extensive aviary are right outside your window, a part of every day. The spa, again, the very best I've ever experienced. Great indoor pool, lots of soaking tubs, whirlpools, the works. The food, either in the historical dining room, or more casual outbuildings, is excellent. Our particular room had a wonderful bed, linens, pillows, towels. The staff are quietly efficient.

We stayed here over two nights and thoroughly enjoyed the magic of the gorgeous castle, stunning grounds and heavenly spa. We wild swam, flew birds of prey and owls, we ate like kings and just had the most incredible time here. The food was delicious and staff couldn’t do enough for you. Mandy at the birds of prey was knowledgeable and excellent handling the birds. We loved every minute

Could not fault this hotel at all. Staff were extremely helpful , efficient and friendly. Surroundings are marvellous, Food was excellent. There was a power cut on our second afternoon/evening. Staff coped admirably

We had an overnight stay here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were very impressed. We stayed in one of the Duke’s Rooms which was a luxurious room with beautiful views of the estate. It is a tranquil place and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend dining in Samuels restaurant, so opulent and faultless service. Beautiful walks to go on and my husband especially enjoyed the falconry experience with Mandy, very informative. There is a modern spa with excellent facilities. Would highly recommend and we will be returning.

Such a nice place, no question. Totally let down by little things. Problem is, lots of little things added up to a disappointing weekend, one that cost a four figure sum. Possibly the nicest spa you’ll find is mismanaged, Saturday afternoon was like a Las Vegas pool party for 500 people, in a space for 250. Greedy management, totally oversold the day guest package. Across the weekend we had issues, can’t fault the staff, the spa here is run by someone used to selling tour bus tickets. A noisy room, because of the nearby kitchen refrigeration, meant 5am and 6am wake ups. No wi-fi or working TV (TV was fixed, wi-fi not). Worst thing, it was a lovely room! Cold (cooked) breakfast, slow service, ran out of food! See what we mean, in isolation nothing was great shakes, but add it all up and our anniversary weekend was rubbish. We heard the “sorry about that” too many times. Not fair, it changed nothing. Beautiful looking place (+) stunning looking spa (x) very, very poor management = choose someplace else.

The whole experience from start to finish was outstanding. Every member of staff throughout was so warm and welcoming. Food, spa, rooms, hotel, grounds... I could go on... all brilliant. Can't wait to come back again

We’ve been visiting Swinton Park for the last 25 years. In that time we have seen the management constantly looking towards improving the facilities and offering more and more visitor experiences. This time was no different and we enjoyed complementary gin tasting and wine tasting sessions given by enthusiastic and friendly staff. Our room, Thorpe Pellow was spacious, stylish and well appointed. We dined in Samuel’s and enjoyed fine wine, varied and delicious meals presented by attentive staff. The new General Manager Paul Hunter was visible around the hotel and in the restaurant and was easy to engage in conversation. Overall Swinton is a little oasis in the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
