The hosts at this Ryoken are so welcoming, friendly and helpful! They picked us up from the ferry terminal when we arrived and dropped us back there on departure. This was crucial as we would have otherwise struggled with our suitcases up the hills and through the labyrinth of small streets! The location is a little bit away from the central area, but that is what we wanted. It was so peaceful at night, the deer wandered past our the front as we relaxed in the open air footpath. The food was nothing short of excellent. They specialise in seafood dishes so if you have an allergy it would be important to let the hosts know before you arrive. The rooms were simply and elegantly appointed: we had everything we needed. The onsen onsite was fantastic! After a long day of walking we felt very relaxed afterwards. Thank you so much to the hosts for making our stay on Miyajima unforgettable!

Nice.ryokan in Miyajima. The ryokan is located quite far up a hill from the station but they provide free transportation to and from the hotel. Both the kaiseki dinner and the breakfast were excellent. The service was impeccable. It is located about a five minute walk from Itsukushima shrine . Room was good with two single beds. Onsen has both indoor and outdoor pool. Would highly recommend this place.

The location of this hot spring ryokan, which is within walking distance to the Miyajima Otorii Gate and Itsukushima Shrine, is great. The hotel staff are attentive and the facilities are great. It was a very satisfying stay.

The food was really delicious and it was close to Otori, so it was nice to go out to see Otori in the evening. There was a room with a view of Otori, but I was disappointed that I didn't stay in that room, but the other rooms were nice enough. It was close to the ropeway platform and close to Ikutsushima Shrine, so it was good to go around.

This is an accommodation that I was really very satisfied with. It's a bit far from Miyajima Port, but the accommodation is very big and pretty. It's decorated in a Japanese tatami style, but all the furniture is new, and the bathroom is really nice. And the managers were very nice and kind. There is a shuttle, so if you make a reservation in advance, you can take the shuttle. I want to go again.

The rooms are very clean. Personally, I think the location is quite good. The food is also delicious. I think the amenities are poor.

We chose Kikunoya Hotel for our Japanese style room experience during our Japan trip. It was a good choice. We really enjoyed our drink in the nice footbath outside garden, we booked the "Ocean view" room which was quite expensive but it was really worth it. We also had the typical J dinner and it was really delicious even if I would say not entirely suitable for children and teenagers. But I have to say the staff were very responsive to our food allergies - much appreciated.

We stayed in a Japanese-style room, which means sitting on the floor at a table during the day. While you're at dinner, the staff comes and lays out a futon mattress for sleeping. If you don't like sitting on the floor they have regular rooms too. The included dinner was exceptional, with several courses. Supposedly if you book on their website you can pay more to get dinner served in your room; we used a 3rd party booking service and dinner was in the restaurant. When considering the value of this place, consider that your rate may include an amazing dinner. I didn't use the baths so I cannot comment there. One of main advantages of spending the night at Miyajima is that you have more time to see the "floating" gate in different tidal conditions. You could also use the extra time for a long hike to the top of the mountain.

I arrived late on my arrival day and the staff told me they are closing the door 24.00 pm. It was quite a walk from the ferry terminal to the hotel (i guess about 20 min. walk with my luggage). Later i found out they have a free shuttle service -.- . Anyway staff at the reception and in the dining room were very nice and the room was ok. Everything clean as expected and a small Miyajima souvenir are waiting to be eaten^^. The bath area was small and good, as was the air in general on that island. After chek in you get a yukata and the key to your room. One thing i felt sorry about; Staff worked until 24.00pm, just to start working again at 5 a.m. .Thats not ok. As a result, an email i send earlier about changing my room was overseen. I am not mad about it, since i arrived late anyway. But for gods sake, let the staff at least get some rest between the shifts lol.

There were 3 of us who stayed in this hotel for one night. Staying on the island overnight has its reasons. You can stay until the last minute to enjoy the shops, the streets, the walks. Of course, around 6pm the fire cover goes off and very few places remain active. If you haven't booked dinner, get organized and make sure you have a safe place to dine. The hotel or ryocan is very characteristic. There are the two olsen (man and woman), they then give you Kimonos to dress up and enter the right world and for those who choose the dinner and breakfast solution, it is an explosion of Japanese cuisine. Everything taken care of, healthy and fresh. For us Italians perhaps dinner can pass, but breakfast with rice and vegetables. However, you don't die. We will then eventually return to Hiroshima. Ours was a western triple room, no view. At a certain time everyone goes to bed and there is absolute silence. Perhaps the solution is the quality of the furniture and the internal bathroom leave a little to be desired, but the atmosphere is guaranteed.

We stayed at this hotel the night we spent in Miyajima and it was perfect. First they pick up your suitcases from the ferry to the hotel. The best for the heat. Then near the sanctuary. A nice and pleasant onsen. Foot baths at the entrance. Completely traditional Japanese breakfast. I don't know what the other hotels are like but this one is recommended.
