Loved this place. Yeah it’s dated and the pool area needs work but it makes up for it with the beach. Loved the beach and lawn area with chairs. I wish they would fix the beach entry stairs though because it was difficult getting back up to the lawn area. Our unit was pretty small especially the kitchen and bathrooms but I was fine with it. I did not like that you had to go down steps then back up steps to get to the first floor. All in all, it may not be the newest and fanciest but it has a great view of the ocean and good beach access. Side note: the beach had a barrier of rocks and tide pools but this hotel had a path into the sandy part of the beach.

We were very disappointed in our 8 day stay in May 2022 in Paki Maui #224. The condo is in need of a major upgrade and better property management. The master shower had clumps of hair stuck on the walls when we arrived (GROSS!). There are significant stains in the master bedroom carpet, along with major rips in the drapes. Several lights did not work, nor the dishwasher. The detergent never dispensed and the dishes came out covered in sludge (GROSS AGAIN!) The was a random assortment of dishes, with only 3 bowls, and a miscellaneous assortment of plates and cups. There were plenty of random silverware and utensils, some still coated with a previous occupant's dried egg (MORE GROSSNESS!) When I go on a Hawaiian vacation, I want to stay in a place that at the very least feels clean and comfortable! This was the opposite of that, which put a serious damper on our vacation. Do NOT rent this unit and beware of other places managed by Chase N Rainbows!

Beautiful place for relax. Very cozy pool area with hot tub. Amazing view from living room. Kitchen fully equipped. Have beach stuff. Nearest to grocery stores and cafes. I really like that place and will return soon. Huge tv. Good ventilation, so you dont need ac.

We stayed in unit 420. This unit was updated but the bedding was stained and dingy. One of the bath towels left for us to use had blue gunk on it. Hard to feel comfortable when bedding and towels aren’t clean. Found a dead roach in the unit and saw in the instructions to take trash out nightly and put all food away, seems like they are aware they have a pest issue. There was a rat by the swimming pool along with large roaches in the pool. There is no ac. The only way to get airflow is to have the front and back door open but that isn’t possible at night so it gets uncomfortable. Some units have a screen door on the front door but this unit does not. The grass area by the ocean was nice but the stairs leading down to the water are blocked off.

We just returned from a one week stay in unit 120. The only reason we stayed here is because we were traveling with 2 other couples who were staying there. This property is old. We knew that going into this trip. Our unit was on the ground floor and twice during our stay we found large dead cockroaches on the floor. Yuck! We have stayed at other properties on Maui and have never had this issue. There is no A/C in the unit. Each room has a fan but we needed to keep the window in the bedroon open at night and heard every sound in the adjacent parking lot. The screen doors leading to the patio need to be replaced as they don’t stay in the track and don’t have a lock.we only used the frig so I can’t comment on the other appliances in the kitchen. There is no beach, just a grassy area. The pool is small and quite cold last week. Nice bbq area by the pool. We won’t be staying at this property again. There is a laundry facility and an app to charge the washing fees but the WiFi is horrible in the laundry room. They need to put a router in the laundry room.

We stayed in 117. The courtyard garden is beautiful : full of flowers and the peaceful sound of the waterfall. Hot tub was hot and the pool nice and warm. Nice oceanfront with chairs. The beach park next door has 2 reefs and lovely swimming and tide pools without much surf. ANY thing you might want it is within walking distance: massage, mani pedi, tour operators, cute shops, shave ice, coffee, farmers market store ( yummy açaí bowls) , ABC store and a large grocery. Close to many fine beaches and the beach trail. No need for AC due to fans and breeze. Pleasant decor and perfectly functional. We appreciated the beach towels and lots of beach equipment ( chairs, mats, umbrella and lots of noodles, toys and snorkel gear). This is not a 5 star resort. But if you are here to see Maui and want great value and location: this is it. We had considerate neighbors on either side so that was fortunate.

Full review of Paki Maui unit 207, continued from VRBO, which only allowed me to submit the first half. Overall, this is a 2-star unit in a 2-star hotel. The best, and unfortunately, only good thing about this unit is the view, which is spectacular. By far, the best part of staying here was being able to sit on the lanai and watch whales and sunsets. The view is so nice that we'd planned on going whale-watching a second time (we went once our first week, when we were staying at another resort), but because whale-watching from the lanai was so great, there was no need to go on a boat again. Having said that, there are many downsides to this unit. Before listing them off for future potential renters, I have to say that the property management group (Maui Paradise Properties) was excellent. Everything that I list as being missing from the unit, they brought over to us the next day. I also feel bad saying anything negative about the unit because it's clear the owner has fixed / replaced some things. The kitchen, for instance, has decent appliances and black granite countertops. But the unit needs a good thorough cleaning, not the hotel-style wipe-down that rental properties get. Now, the many downsides: - This unit needs MUCH more frequent bug spraying - the ant problem was severe. I know that everyone will say that ants are everywhere in Maui, and we know that, we've been there many times. But this was terrible. There were ants everywhere - in the kitchen, in the beds, shower, crawling on our dinner plates while we were eating (indoors), etc. We asked for and were brought ant spray, and we used almost the whole large can over the 3 weeks we were there; we had to spray once or twice a week to keep things bearable. We also had to ask for: - dish towels: we were only left 1 dish towel and 2 face cloths (in the kitchen) for a 3 week stay - bath towels: we were only left 2 (i.e. 1 each), 2 face cloths and 2 hand towels. I mean I know we're expected to do laundry, but that's ridiculous - oven mitts: there were none provided - placemats: none provided; we ate our first hot meal on magazines - We bought and installed a mattress cover from Amazon because we couldn't get through the night without being bitten. I also woke up every morning with a strange rash on my legs. There were also a million little flies dive-bombing us while in bed. Can't blame the unit for that, I think it was just the time of year. - Don't be fooled by the pictures. The unit is tiny, cramped and very dark. The shower is disgusting, it appears to still have the original taps and shower head from the 1970s and the caulking is more sand than anything - There's only a very small amount of hot water, not enough to 2 people to have quick showers back to back without giving the hot water heater a break in between - The lack of air conditioning, which I expected to be a big problem, oddly wasn't an issue because of the cross-ventilation provided by the breeze coming off the water. This is the second time I’ve stayed at Paki Maui in 10 years. All I can say is check the photos as each unit varies greatly in cleanliness and modernization. 221 has a beautiful kitchen, nice furniture, clean floors and carpets, and nice lanai furniture. The kitchen is well stocked with plates, utensils, and pots/pans. Washer/dryer in unit. There’s also salt/pepper and other little cooking needs in the pantry. There’s Patio chairs boogie boards, as well as pool noodles and floats. Not much in the way of cards or games but that’s ok, plenty else to do here. Right across the street there’s lots of shops and there’s and ABC convenience store within walking distance. The facility itself is wonderful for swimming in the pool and cooking at the bbq. I wish I had these kitchenaid grills at home! The grass is plush and there’s a few palm trees for shade. I recommend staying in an ocean view unit as there’s no AC. It kinda sucks that the beach access stairs are closed off but there’s a nice public beach right next door. I totally recommend this unit (GET UNIT 221!) and hope to come again!

Nice quiet place... Bed was comfortable, and great location. The condo offered a nice sized kitchen. The balcony had a nice view of the courtyard... The views of the sunset from the beach area were amazing!!
