From checking in to checking out, the staff were attentive and friendly. Even a little lunch bag was available on our departure with a bagel, spreads, apple and a bottle of watter. A nice little gesture we thought. The breakfast, however, was very disappointing. Pre-made omelette kept warm, the sausage and potatoes needed re-warming fortunately there was a microwave oven hand. The selection of fruit was poor as the yoghurt selection. All served on paper plates and plastic utensils. Surely it is cheaper and better for the environment to use wasshable crockery and cutlery. I need to finish on a positive note, the oats were nicely prepared.

We had above excellent service. The ladies and gentleman at the front desk were so friendly and nice. The sheets on the bed were so clean and crisp that you could smell the freshness. Breakfast was also great. This will be our choice of stay when coming in for the holidays to visit family.

This is the only place in Hazard worth staying at. Always clean. Only complaint is that we booked a handicap room and they are always on the 2nd and 3rd floors??? Stop doing that people that designed this hotel. Handicap rooms should always be on the first floor!!

Great stay. From the moment we walked and Kendra Miller (front desk) met us with a nice smile and asked how she could help us, everything was great. We have 3 kids, so we needed 2 connecting rooms. Kendra got us set up and even got us a roll away bed, since 1 of the rooms only had 2 bed. Everything was clean, well kept, and the beds were comfortable. Would definitely recommend. Also, breakfast was good.

We love staying at Hampton Inns as they are consistently a great stay. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast had a wide variety of items to choose from. The pool was great! All the staff were welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Becky at the front desk was so amazing! Patient and kind. She helped our large group get settled in despite a number of issues. Room was clean and accommodating and hotel was receiving some exterior work but the inside was fresh and welcoming

The general manager, Justin Combs, encouraged me to give this rating. My sister and I stayed at the Hampton in Hazard for several days during October and early November. The hotel was close to the hospital, and we hoped, because it was a Hilton, it would be nice. My sister, had booked several nights. During the last week, she was made to move her room 3 times-one time, in particular, to the exact same type of room. We just scratched our head. Each time, she checked out at 11, took her bag to her car in the parking lot, and rechecked in by 3PM. We didn't say anything at the time and despite these kind of mistakes (which would have never happened nor have they at any other Hilton I have been in or decent hotel for that matter) everyone had been very nice, decent breakfast, yes- the clocks were all wrong in every single of the many rooms we stayed in because we were constantly moved, the pillows were flat as pancakes, the towels scratchy and not sufficient, and the shampoo and soap bottles always empty, but no one had been rude. ( And if no one had been rude, I would have kept all of these true facts to myself. )So before I left, I went up to the front desk to be nice and let them know about the rooms-not wanting anything and assuming they had committed some unaware clueless and honest mistakes. The young woman was nice enough and got the very young "general manager." I approached him calmly and he continued to escalate things and be combative, explaining how it is completely normal to play musical rooms like that while in a hotel. It was honestly something I have never witnessed. We only wanted a, "I am so sorry; I didn't realize." He told me his name was "Justin Combs" and encouraged me to leave him a poor review. So until more training occurs, I would go to the Holiday Express down the street.

I took my mom to her 56 High School reunion in the area and chose to stay at the Hampton Inn in Hazard. First because of Hilton's usual excellence service and hotel. I will say that the check-in was a breeze and Jarrett was really sweet. He did all he could to try and help me out with the few situations that popped up (nothing major or that couldn't be resolved). In our room our microwave didn't function properly, I reported it, of course it was late and didn't ask for an immediate fix. I just used the one downstairs in the breakfast area. As for the rest of the room it was nice and clean. The beds were comfortable. My only complaint was the breakfast. To begin nothing was stocked. I get that the hotel had a lot of people staying, but the area looked to be lacking. The counters had not been wiped down. Food was out of stock and I never saw them bringing more out. The waffle station was a hot mess. The waffles were sticking, because they didn't set the spray out. Not to mention the waffle batter was a little too thick for coming out of the dispenser and for pouring out of the cup. The drink dispenser had the lines crossed or they put the wrong sign over the spigot. I went to apple juice and got strawberry kiwi water. There was not bread for toast, not biscuits and the gravy was like water. They did have eggs and sausage and yogurt. The cereal was empty as well. I did talk with the person inside the breakfast area and they did bring me a box of cereal.

The staff were friendly, informative and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, the hotel was just as we would expect. The location is convenient to town. Best sleep I had after a long day of travel. Thank you for a great experience.

Our room was very clean and comfortable. We felt very safe in this area. My only complaint was the breakfast. There weren’t a lot of choices compared to other Hampton Inns we’ve stayed at. The tv channel selection was very small. It was a great place to stay while traveling through. We would stay again.

The hotel was nice and clean however when we first checked in on Friday night there was a horrible sewer gas smell in our room. I figured the smell was from a dry trap but even after we ran water in shower and sink it didn’t go away. I didn’t worry about switching rooms the first night since it was already nearly midnight. The next morning the room still smelled awful and my wife woke up with a headache and upset stomach which she had through Sunday likely related to the sewer gas as those are side effects of exposure. The first thing Saturday morning I spoke to the girl at the front desk about switching rooms. She was nice and tried to be accommodating and said she was trying to get us a new room, later she told me nothing was going to be available and she couldn’t switch us rooms. We were in town for a wedding along with many others so I understand there may not have been another room available. I went to the grocery store and picked up an air freshener and Lysol, this helped minimize the smell. I closed the shower drain on Saturday morning, the smell did improve. We showered Saturday afternoon and went to the wedding Saturday night. Unfortunately we forgot to close the bathroom door and plug the shower drain and when we returned to the room late Saturday the smell was overwhelming again. We woke up Sunday with headaches and upset stomachs. Sunday morning at checkout I asked to talk to the manager about a discount or some type of accommodation because the smell was clearly coming from the shower drain. Normally places will at least give a bit of discount if they can’t switch rooms. The manager was very dismissive of us and dead set that it wasn’t the hotel’s problem even when we explained the smell clearly went away when we closed the shower drain. She said it was coming in from outside and wouldn’t budge nor hear us out. She was very rude to my wife and I and insisted we were wrong. I spoke to many other family and friends who were also staying in the same hotel. I even went to a few of their rooms and no body else had this problem/smell. The manager said we weren’t the only room with the smell but I spoke with at least 10 others none of which had the odor. We thought the hotel was nice, we enjoyed the pool, breakfast, and location. I’m extremely disappointed in the way the manager Sunday morning handled our concerns and didn’t care at all. I regularly stay at Hilton hotels and they are a my preferred chain of choice however if this is the way management handles situations such as this I will be looking to other locations in the future.
Response from Property: We are very sorry that you experienced this during your stay with us. I am aware that there was a strong sewer smell during your stay, the sewer smell was coming from above the hotel where the city crews were working to repair and replace a sewer line/drain. The sewer smell did impact the entire hotel as we had guests that were noticing the smell as they walked into the lobby of the hotel as well as multiple other guests that had complained of the sewer smell in their room, our staff also noticed the smell all throughout hotel. Our staff worked to try and mitigate the smell by using air fresheners, ionizing machines, mixtures of Febreze and hot water but nothing we tried could overpower the sewer smell cause by the construction. We had also notified the cities utilities and we were told that we were not the only ones that had reported this issue and that they were working to resolve the issue as fast as possible. Again, I am very sorry that this occurred during your time with us, but we do feel like this was something that was completely out of our control, and we feel we had done everything we could to try and mitigate the issue. We do hope that you choose to stay with us again in the future so that hopefully we will be able to make it up to you!

Went for my Aunt's funeral. Most of my family from different states stayed here. Staff was courteous and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and had a lot of variety. Plenty of room for everyone to sit down and eat. Rooms were clean and comfortable. With all the people there hotel was quiet. Would stay there again if in that area

CASE # 156172556 - Diamond Member This is a synopsis of what happen this morning February 20,2023 This morning at approximate 7:30 A.M., I experience unprofessionalism by Hilton General Manager Josh and Staff Person (her name is unknown to me, but she comes in at 7 A.M.) at the front counter. I was attempting to get my bill straight with him. He was uncooperative with me; both were ganging up on me and speaking to me at the same time. She’s telling me to go to another hotel. He saying I had to go. I asked are you putting me out? I kept asking this question. He stated yes and finally said “would like for you to leave or I will call the owner to see what he says”. I replied I’ll will wait. He and Staff Person went to the back to call owner of the hotel. General Manager Josh and Staff Person came back and stated I could stay but if there is one more incident with the front counter I had to leave. I am an Adult and not a Child. Please look at the video Now, mind you I was over charged $5,397.50 and there was refund of $,381.50 but another charged of $3,744.00. The charge should be for $144 for 14 days at $2,016. These two have always been rude, crude, and unprofessional to me. They should never have any contact with the public. Both need to be retrain especially the General Manager Josh. He is not a leader or a problem solver. This is not the first issue I have had with them. There were two other complications. I refused to be disrespected and I will continue to call and write until this issue is resolved. Judging by their actions, they had done this before. This situation is unbelievable. Please look at the video.
