We visited as a family following a recommendation from a friend. This is not your ‘off the beaten track’ safari. It is a private game reserve, so sightings of the big 5 (minus the leopard who has not been seen on the reserve for 22 years) are more or less guaranteed, but you still have to track them down and sometimes they don’t want to be found easily. The reserve is kept as natural as possible, with animals mixing together and still expected to hunt for their food. It is a fantastic choice for families with young children as the drives are restricted to 2 hours twice a day, which is perfect to keep little ones interested. One thing to note is that you need at least two nights to see everything. The giraffes are kept in a valley, which is a two hour round trip from the base so a specific game drive is set aside for this visit. You won’t see the giraffes just wandering around with the rest of the animals on the reserve. You will however see an amazing collection of animals throughout the reserve and we were lucky enough to sight the baby cheetahs.

GGuest UserWe stayed in the penthouse unit which has a huge deck, lovely well equipped kitchen, lovely spacious French Provencal bedroom with bathroom en suite attached with bath and shower and views throughout. We were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Very private with its own entrance which is exactly what we wanted. This is an exceptional property.
