Marienlyst Strandhotel

I changed my reservation to another date and because their website did not send me a confirmation email i lost my reservation ! they did not even bother to reply to my emails or give me a voucher for another time :-(

I usually don’t write reviews, but this time I have to. We had high expectations for Hotel Marienlyst, but unfortunately, they were not met. Our way to the room felt like walking through a terrible basement—dust, mess, and a horrible smell. It seemed like there was ongoing renovation, yet the staff never informed us or offered to change our room. Our room was at the end of the hallway, in the corner. When we were getting ready for dinner, we couldn't open the door because it was blocked by another door. I called the reception, and while they did come to open it, they neither apologized nor explained the situation, despite seeing the mess and scattered items on the floor. If you're planning to visit the pool, be prepared—sunbeds cannot be reserved unless you're sitting on them the entire time. You must keep your belongings on a hanger, and if you leave anything on a sunbed while swimming, the staff will move your items to a hanger without informing you. A week after our stay, I received a second invoice for an outstanding payment for an appetizer we never ordered and two glasses of wine. I replied to their email with a screenshot and proof that we had paid for everything on the spot. However, even after two days, Hotel Marienlyst still could not locate our payment, claiming that five other payments of the same amount were processed at the time—something that is not our concern. Don't set your expectations too high. We were disappointed with this experience.
