The Charleston Inn was amazing. I stayed in room 103 on the first floor. It was comfortable and just the right size for me. The location was perfect. It is close enough to walk to several restaurants for a bite to eat or to window shop in town. Additionally, Asheville was an easy day trip from the inn, as were several small towns, hiking trails, and waterfalls. The ladies at the inn are the epitome of the term southern hospitality. They held a social hour on Saturday night that brought all the guests together. They took an interest in what everyone was doing and offered some tips, tricks, and ideas that enhanced the experience. We ended up doing several things that we didn't even know existed, that we learned about at the social hour. Believe me when I say, they know everyone and are willing to share from a local standpoint. We received coupons for breakfast at a restaurant a block down the street. The menu had a variety of options, and the food was good. It is a historic inn, so the floors creaked, the hot water took a minute to warm up, and the pipes from the radiator rattled, but all that added to the charm of the place. If you have questions or you are not sure, just call them and ask. They will put your mind at ease regarding any of your concerns. Staying there made you feel like you were at home. I definitely plan on going back, hopefully sometime soon.
