What an excellent place to stay. We came for a family wedding and were made welcome throughput our stay. Hotel and staff were exceptional as was the castle! Food was put of this world, even for me who has coeliac so needs gluten free! Hotel shuttled us between the Vale and the Castle which was a God send for those wearing heels! We paid for a basic room, let me say there was nothing basic about it!! Huge comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom with a walk in shower, the usual tea, coffee, water etc, if this was basic I would never leave the higher grade rooms! Diolch yn fair iawn, thank you very much, it was a pleasure to be your guests.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch at the grill for my mother’s birthday. Staff were very attentive and the food was excellent. They managed to handle the children’s food being served around the adults three courses with minimum fuss. Throughly recommend.

We recently stayed at The Vale Resort and have to say after many disastrous trips, our faith has been restored in getting away from the minute we entered the hotel. We were met by Garreth (with two 'r's) who went the extra mile to look after us throughout the duration of our stay. We were made to feel very welcome and every member of staff we spoke to was very friendly. As a result, we will definitely be returning.

Gareth at reception couldn't do enough for us. A wonderful asset for the hotel. He spoilt us rotten. We had a look at Hensol Castle next door. The weather was hot and sunny and felt like we were overseas. I was a bit troubled at a dead seagull on the green that had been alive and well the night before....

Wonderful night spent here celebrating my birthday with my boyfriend. The spa was top notch felt really relaxed and rejuvenated. Nothing was too much trouble for Gareth who was happy to accommodate all of our requests. He’s an absolute gem,,Thank you. I will definitely be returning.

The room with balcony was lovely and large, my partner wanted a bath but unfortunately there was no seal on the bath plug! Busy, didn't pre book dinner, 9pm option to dine, had some bread, waited and dinner arrived at 10pm, too late to enjoy. long wait for drinks at the bar in the afternoon, not enough staff serving especially as the Rugby was on, my partners vodka & mixer was served in a half pint pepsi glass filled to the top, drowned it, had to ask for another in a smaller glass. We had some bar snacks, chicken goujons, chips, but sent garlic bread back, burnt and not worth the money. We paid for breakfast as extra but had it refunded as the que for a table was too long. We've been to this hotel a few times before and enjoyed our time there, spa, food and rooms, the reason i booked was for my partners birthday, a shame that it wasn't the stay we would've liked for a special occasion. We have both agreed that we were disappointed with our stay this weekend.

The hotel facilities are great - rooms are good, with huge comfy beds / lovely pool with sauna, steam room and whirlpool / really good restaurant. The staff in every area are all lovely - maids / restaurant / leisure centre / reception. Particular mention to Garreth Jones, who went out of his way to make our small family event special - he couldn’t do enough for us - he’s a credit to the resort. The hotel is well located for all the attractions in the area, so I’m sure we’ll be back.

My husband and I stayed at the Vale resort in Hensol South Wales for 3 nights in April of this year.The guest services manager Garreth Jones and the entire team could not have done more to enable our stay to be really enjoyable.We recommend it 100%.In fact we enjoyed it so much that we've booked another 3 nights stay for our Wedding anniversary in July.
