What an excellent place to stay. We came for a family wedding and were made welcome throughput our stay. Hotel and staff were exceptional as was the castle! Food was put of this world, even for me who has coeliac so needs gluten free! Hotel shuttled us between the Vale and the Castle which was a God send for those wearing heels! We paid for a basic room, let me say there was nothing basic about it!! Huge comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom with a walk in shower, the usual tea, coffee, water etc, if this was basic I would never leave the higher grade rooms! Diolch yn fair iawn, thank you very much, it was a pleasure to be your guests.

A one night stay to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Had previously requested a 'favourite room' and slightly disappointed to be informed on check in that the room was unavailable. Need not have worried. The alternative room (a suite) allocated was exceptional (501 - Llancarfan) and was huge. The Hensol Gin miniature gift set and anniversary card was a nice touch and much appreciated. Booked the DBB rate and the 3 course meal was excellent and good value. We've stayed at the Resort several times now and never been disappointed. Received a courtesy telephone call a few days prior to our stay to confirm arrangements which was great - spoke with Kathryn and Shannon who were really helpful. Similarly, had excellent communications with Garreth both prior, and a follow up to our stay - great customer service. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning soon!

First thing the spa was excellent, it was relaxing, the staff couldn’t be more helpful and the afternoon tea within the spa was delicious. The room within the hotel itself was fairly sized, there was a variety of channels on the tv to watch and the room service was very prompt. However, the bathroom floor is very slippery and we were only given a small towel which acted as a bath mat. My friend slipped coming out of the shower and the reception staff just said ‘I will pass it on’ with no concern to their customers. Also their restaurant manager that evening wasn’t particularly up to date with their food. We were given a menu that turned out to be the wrong menu so my friend didn’t get the food she had ordered. They didn’t explain that we were given the wrong menu until they had brought over the food she had ordered and said ‘you were lucky we had the ingredients for this meal’. I personally think this is disgusting service from the hotel and restaurant and I will not be coming here again.

We stayed for 2 nights on a golf spa break, which was a gift from our children. We had a couple of issues in trying to arrange when we were going to stay the. Then a mix up on our golf times. However, they couldn't have been more apologetic & helpful. In particular Rebecca on reception. Our room was upgraded which was lovely, thank you. Breakfast & dinner were both very good. Both golf courses were great & a high standard. Overall a great stay. Thank you

Gareth the night manager dealt with a few issues outstandingly and made our stay perfect. Lovely hotel to stay in with excellent evening meal. Rooms were luxurious,and the staff at the spa couldn’t do enough for you. Will definitely return. Thank you

A first & last stay at the Vale Hotel. They say first impressions set the tone & having arrived a five minute wait for the receptionist to finish on the phone with no apology or eye contact was a bad start. The room was large but basic, it just felt a bit dated to be honest & not in keeping with the exterior look. We visited the swimming pool which was ok but no padlocks for lockers meaning best to take your clothes in with you wasn’t great. The facilities was small for the number of people inside meaning it was one in one out for sauna/steam room or jacuzzi. The lanes were narrow, no idea how people lane swim & rotate without knocking someone going the other way. The nice bank holiday morning rest was disturbed at 6am by the sound of the fire alarm going off in the bedroom scaring me half to death waking up! I was concerned the breakfast might not have been great but was actually nice with the exception of the herb potatoes jeez someone over seasoned them took me two drinks to wash a bite down ! But on the whole nicely done. I was all ready to provide feedback at checkout in a constructive manner but the receptionist seemed busy & just asked for the room number & no feedback or apology for the alarm. Sufficed to say I won’t be recommending the facilities to anyone let alone visiting again & actually tell people & work colleagues only use it as a last resort!

The Vale Resort is a great hotel and the golf facilities are second to none. The reception staff on night and day are very friendly and helpful. The terrace that overlooks the golf course was a great way to enjoy a drink and take in the sunshine, can't wait to return.

Added a one night, solo stay here to my visit/stay at Hensol Castle with a group in order to play golf at the Vale Resort which is co-located. It's a beautiful golf course and I would play here again if I were to travel back to the area. I played 18-holes on the National Course. It had been raining for several days before I played and the course was very wet. However, it didn't rain at all on the day I played...weather was perfect. I had pre-arranged a riding buggy and rental clubs online. The rental clubs were newer and better than my own clubs so I couldn't use that as an excuse for how well I played. The staff at the Golf Course - which is just steps outside the front door of the Resort -- were excellent. The Resort staff was also very welcoming, I was upgraded to a suite because although I arrived an hour after check-in, my room wasn't ready. The suite could easily accomodate a foursome. I had a great outdoor patio space. My room came with breakfast which was served in the restaurant. I also had a lunch/early dinner in the restaurant. The bathroom in my room was a very recently updated huge space.
