Family-friendly Hotels in Hermanus

This hotel was like a balm to our souls! Such a beautiful place, right on the coast and so calm. The lovely staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Special mention to Claudia, on reception, such a lovely person. Marley, in the spa, who gave me the best facial I have ever had and the ever so helpful manageress, whose name we didn’t get. She arranged for another bed in our gorgeous room and we slept like babies for 3 whole days! The breakfast was second to none and the pool was warm and such a pleasure to swim in. We loved Hermanus and The Marine Hotel. We will always have special memories of this…

What a find! From arrival to departure, we loved every minute. We were staying in the hineymoon suite. Large and comfortable, with AMAZING views. So comfortable. Breakfast great. Fresh fruit, delicious yoghurts and bakes. Wonderful cooked breakfast. Dining room overlooking the pool and oceon. Hosts VERY wrlcoming, and couldn't do enough for us. Simpky a wonderful experience.

Had a splendid 2 night stay and wish we could have stayed longer. The staff made us feel so welcome. They are exceptionally polite and well informed on the surrounding area. We were provided with a map full of helpful suggestions, and a thorough introduction to the lodge and all it's facilities upon check-in. The lodge is located right next to Hermanus New Harbour and a few steps from the cliff path, which is well worth the walk. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. It opens onto a beautiful, well maintained garden area but a few steps from the pool. Breakfast was fantastic (reccommend the Full English!), and a lovely selection of breads, cereals, fruits, cold meats, yogurts etc at the buffet. Truly, no complaints. Would absolutely stay again.

Maryke was an awesome host. Making sure we were comfortable by fitting in a brand new bed to ensure we had the best stay. Her breakfasts were amazing and she showed us the best spots to visit in the city. Definitely a place that we will visit frequently to see our favourite city

Greeted by our friendly host and her 2 lovely dogs and shown to our spotless clean room with the most wonderful comfortable bed for a great nights sleep. Our host for breakfast in the morning (assuming hubby)! was also very friendly and very helpful with giving tips on where to go in the area, even sorted the route out on our phone which saved us a lot of work! Breakfast was lovely, offering daily specials and fruit, cheese and ham platters, great toast and home made jams. The coffee served was wonderful! The room was great, powerful shower, fridge, tea and coffee. There is a small swimming pool in a lovely relaxing area outside. The cliff walk can be accessed opposite the guest house and it is a lovely walk into town from here. Flicks restaurant is close by, situated below the path amongst the rocks and nice for lunch or just for a drink (shuts early around 6 out of season because the sun goes in and it starts to get rather chilly down there). The whole area was peaceful and relaxing when we were here in November. Our first time in Africa and we had read so many bad things about walking around at night but we walked to town for an evening meal and back at 10pm when it was dark and did not see a car or anyone for that matter, well lit on the roads and felt very safe. The restaurants in town looked nice, we were recommended Burgundy but fancied pizza so went to Embers which was great and serving some lovely wines here too. Some lovely shops and cafes in town, gorgeous views, whale watching in the season without getting on a boat, just from the cliff tops. Only regret…..should have stayed an extra day, you really need to stay 2 nights here minimum, such a gorgeous area, we will be back!!!

An incredible hotel with a real family vibe and outstanding service. Mosselberg provides an incredible experience: my wife would take her binoculars and watch Whales in the ocean whilst we sat and ate a stunning breakfast; Nothing was too much trouble for staff James and Brighton who were extremely attentive; a beautiful room a heated swimming pool and everything else you could want to relax on a lovely holiday. Would definitely come back and recommend
