What a great pub! 🤩🥳 Love 🧡 it A proper local (lucky for me) where DJ nights (Wayne Miles) Makes the atmosphere feel like an old-fashioned house party! In my 50s, so too old to go clubbing, but still have the 21-year-old inside me that likes to boogy on down 😅 when poss. 🙄🥵🤯 It is Not a pretentious place but now under New management it’s both cozy & just genuine and welcoming Somewhere you could even go to alone Ladies You would be lucky to get a room there as it’s often fully booked, but if you can do a late one and go back 30 years to the old house party days, this is definitely the place for you!

Having checked online I noted that service started at 11am. Between 11 & 12 the landlord was setting up outside tables. As I attempted to enter the bar I was advised that opening times had changed to noon in a somewhat surly manner. When asked why the website was out of date he just said that he would get around to it. Zero for conviviality. I advised that I would leave a review.

Old style boozer with rooms above in a bit of a ram-shackle state. Very basic and in a state of disrepair in parts. Bathroom door only on by one hinge, bathroom with bare plaster board and lots of tools and cleaners trolleys in the hallways and a strange diy metal fire escape. Was unable to re enter the hotel to get something we forgot when we left early one morning. Despite this it was a cheap and cheerful place to stay.

The pub is “tired” and caters mostly for workmen. There isn’t any hot food available (no breakfast availability) only sandwiches later in the day. Hosts didn’t have our booking as they don’t use ********** and treat emails from them as “spam”. There wasn’t any Wi-Fi, free or otherwise and the room wasn’t serviced during our stay. Strangely we were told not to drink the tap water although we don’t know why.

Lovely traditional pub with a lovely warm welcome. We prefer a pub to a hotel and it suited our needs perfectly and we will definitely be going back to stay there.

3 Welsh tree surgeons on a special mission in Surrey. In need of a base of operations, a comfortable command centre and maybe, just maybe, a lovely but of dinner as well. Premier Inn and Travelodge were never an option. We knew from day one we wanted somewhere real; unique. An independent business with character and heart. By this criteria Tony and the Waterman's Arms did not disappoint. We arrived on Sunday evening just in time for a superb roast beef dinner cooked by the man himself. Tony's hearty home cooking and generous portion sizes that night would set the tone for the rest of our meals, good food and plenty of it. The bar downstairs felt like a real locals pub, and as we dined Tony would regale us with information about the pub and the local village of Hersham. The rooms had just what we needed and we enjoyed very much Daniel Craig reprising his role as James Bond in Skyfall 007 on the flat screen TV in the room. We were mightily sorry to leave but the pain was somewhat tempered by our dreams of one day returning. Tony and the Waterman's was really the complete package. We were immersed in Hersham life and were welcomed by Tony and his customers. May we meet again someday.

My partner and I stayed for the jubilee. We arrived Friday evening and checked in. The room was cosy, it was somewhere to sleep. My partner went to collect his car so we could go out for tea, the bnb owner then questioned me on where we were going and advised us that he wouldn't reccomend that we left however the choice was ours. We were then going to Epsom races on the Saturday and once again he interfered by telling us that the train we were getting was too late and that we were going to miss Epsom races (slightly dramatic). He then came to our door this morning to settle the bill even though we had already paid he thought we were another customer. A gin and a pint was £14, the walls were paper thin and you have to leave via the fire exit in the morning which is a hazard in itself (tools and building equipment) everywhere. Would not reccomend at all, if you want to do your own thing and not eat/drink in his pub.

This is a pub with rooms and there is no breakfast offered. The rooms are up very steep flights of stairs and there was a load of detritus on the landings; dirty linen, bags of rubbish and building materials. Not a very good first impression. The room was functional and we could not fault the cleanliness of the room itself or the bed linen and towels. Unfortunately the walls were very thin so we could hear guests in other rooms and the shower had absolutely no pressure at all. This is the first place we’ve stayed where you don’t check out, we were told if we needed to leave before the landlord was up we should let ourselves out of the fire escape; which we did. The venue was in a good location for us but it lacked some of the niceties we’re used to. Unfortunately we will not stay here again.
