Located in the nearest town to Fraser Island, the hotel is a family-run Airbnb. The kitchen in the room is large and suitable for a large family. Just across the street from the B&B is the Fisherman's Wharf Seafood Wholesale Market, which is very convenient to buy and cook yourself. B&B facilities are not as good as hotels and resorts. The swimming pool is small and the service is average. There is no 24-hour front desk. Early check-in and late check-out are not allowed. Because it is a family business, there is no time to clean and tidy the room. If you don’t mind these, it is still a cost-effective local accommodation option.

The apartment was very spacious and had a well stocked kitchen utensils. Good view of the ocean and well lit with folding doors on the balcony.
The blinds were bit out dated and didn't block light coming in the bedroom in early hours of the morning. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the pool and spa.

Had everything we need for very comfortable stay. Dana at the front desk was extremely helpful and we felt very welcome there. The apartment and the facilities are top quality and well maintained.

Stayed 3 nights. Loved the quiet, spacious, clean, and well appointed apartment. Excellent kitchen facilities. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great view over the pool. Located close to the boat harbour so very convenient for trips to K’gari and boating activities. Highly recommend.

I don’t usually do reviews but this place has been exceptional! Rooms are really spacious and clean . living room large with great tv choices . Great views from the balcony. Car parking is great your allocated a place and a few paces to the lift which takes you right to your door of the apartment . Short walk to the boathouse club and restaurant…..funny thing to point out but the bin area is immaculate, the guy who looks after them is fastidious they are washed out daily and perfumed ! Big shout out to him . We will deffo be coming back sometime .

Great place to stop off on a big road trip. Everything is here for you. We had a 1 bed studio apartment. It was a really great size. Nice pool to cool off and the staff are great too. Dana on reception was just so pleasant and helpful. Short walk down to the harbour area where there are a few cafes and bars. Safe parking. Nothing bad to say about Akama Resort. We would definitely stay again if we were in the area. .
