Didn't realise pool for kids is from 3pm weekdays. Got charged again after prepaid my room. Other than that it's a comfortable stay with spacious room and bed. Free parking. Perfect temperature of the whirlpool and swimming pool.

As this Hotel is 3 star, it was of the expected standard. Room was of a good size with good cupboard and room space with an additional chair and table. Was also supplied with a fan and hairdryer. Ironboard. Carpets were new and clean, and room was spotless. The swimming pool was of a good size and we made use of it and the saunas. On the other hand. the beds were hard. We felt the restaurant was overpriced and, therefore, we did not have breakfast at the Hotel.

Wow what can I say… Our second function at the manor, one for a family occasion and this last one yesterday was a funeral wake for my mum. The staff were amazing, the buffet food was beautiful and the hotel was stunning. I cannot thank the staff and management enough for making both events special and all guest feel welcome and at ease. Thank you Vicky Jaggs and your amazing staff. We will be back xxxx The Anderson’s xxx

My husband and I stayed here as a treat for our wedding anniversary. We stayed in room 10 - a four poster bed room, which was £185 for the night, including breakfast. On arrival, we headed straight for the Leisure Club. The communal areas around the pool, steam room and jacuzzi felt tired and grubby. We didn’t eat in the hotel restaurant in the evening but we did have a drink in the bar on our return from a local restaurant. The bar is essentially some seats in the reception, which was freezing due to the revolving main door. We went back to our room after one drink and decided we’d order breakfast to our room the next morning. We completed the menu card and hung it on the outside of our door, as instructed, way before the 3am cut off time. Our order card wasn’t collected and the breakfast never arrived. Unable to get the phone in the room to work, we called the hotel from my mobile. They were very apologetic and said they’d look into it. We didn’t hear anything, so my husband got dressed and went to reception in person, where he was assured our breakfast was being sorted. It wasn’t, the card was still on the door. The food did eventually arrive (only a cup of tea, not a pot!) but it took the shine off of our rare child-free morning when one of us was up and fully dressed, and had to go downstairs to chase it up. We gave up on a relaxing morning, got up and went home. Additionally, the 4 poster bed felt cheap and rickety, and creaked very loudly with every slight movement all night. The mattress was rock hard, the pillows flat (no extras in the room) and the duvet literally as flat as a leaflet. See photos. We barely slept at all. There is literally nothing remotely luxurious about this room, other than its size, which also boasted missing draw handles and a knackered looking fan. These things are all cheap to replace, little things that make such a difference. Although the room itself felt clean, despite it’s tired decor, overall we were very disappointed in the service, facilities and appearance of the hotel for the money. Left feeling shattered, after a terrible nights sleep, and wouldn’t return.

Had a 60th birthday function to attend so stayed one night This hotel is tired and even rooms with new carpets are poor. Tried to have a shower at 6pm no running water unable to flush toilets. Complained to reception their response was boiler is working! The plumbing is obviously not able to cope with demand! The only saving grace was the service and food at the function which was excellent. Would not recommend staying at this hotel.

It really does get my goat when you order food in a hotel and the bring you substandard replacements without telling you this is the case, or even offer a replacement when it’s clear the customer is not happy, clearly the curtain haired waiter thought laughing in the corner was more important than customer satisfaction. To the chef in this piece, there is a big difference between triple cooked chips as your menu stated and Icelands skin on frozen, when your paying for a premium product ordered at table side the customer should be treated fairly by you producing what you have stated on your menu!

We needed a room for the night while we were visiting family nearby. The price was very cheap so I was a bit weary, but it was definetly worth it! First off, the room was massive and the bed was large and comfy. The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom had a large shower that was spotless. Sure the hotel needs a bit of painting here and there, but it is old and very charming. The breakfast was delicious and the food was very fresh. Overall it's great value for money and I would definetly stay there again.
