The hotel itself is better than expected; You can tell that they went through a massive renovation in order to give a chill vibes based stay (on the outside). Inside of the room, it’s definitely an old hotel… I liked the furniture, but the windows were too open for my liking (you get the feeling that anyone can look into your room); Not as much of an issue since we used the curtains! The bath towels were covered in hair (ranging from long strands to tiny ***** pieces) which I found to be disgusting. The staff were more than willing to switch out the towels (there was still hair on them but a little dusting off mainly did the job). There was tiny ***** hair pieces in the bathtub as well, but I washed them down the drain so no biggie. The main issue that I had with this stay was that you could hear everything that was going on in rooms next door or outside. We heard loud screaming and fighting into the early ams, and it took a while for them to stop. This is not the hotel’s fault, but if you do stay here, keep in mind that the rooms aren’t very spacious, you can hear everything, and there might be hair in your towels. Overall, I really loved staying here and found it to be quite charming. The view in front of the hotel is INSANE. Though I listed negative traits about this hotel, I feel that it’s important to give some transparency to readers of this review. Mostly everyone goes into a hotel thinking that it’s 1000% clean and perfect. However, for me, the negative reviews are what I look for so that I know what to expect. You will definitely love the vibes and views this hotel has to offer, as well as the friendliness of the staff who worlds here.

Charged an Amenity Fee which was never disclosed during booking process. Will. Not support Trip in thr future as wife felt taken advantage of us.

The room is very clean and the staff has very good service attitude. There is a swimming pool, gym, laundry room and performances on the first floor. There are free coffee, tea bags and water dispenser in the lobby.

Everything is fine, but the sound insulation is poor, I can't sleep all night, the air conditioner is still very noisy from the windows

The service at the front desk is awesome. I owe her eight million.

The hotel on the roadside of Hilo, there is a pond in front of the hotel, the price/performance ratio is really poor, the room of 350 dollars has only two windows like skylights, the service attitude is very average, the room is very noisy, the sound in the hotel, the sound of cars on the road, and the plane flying by the sound of. I will not choose to live here next time.

It was nice to be right next to Hilo Airport. There is no elevator in the hotel, so it can be a bit difficult to move luggage. The scenery is nice, but the room condition is not very good.

This is the best hotel

The hotel had such a homey feel. Coffee mugs and wine bottle glasses. And the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Very enjoyable one night stay at SCP! Loved the coffee in the lobby and live music at night! Great location and walking distance from the bay and different restaurants!

The lobby and grounds of the property are beautiful. The staff is super friendly. Although we didn’t use the bikes and the paddle boards, having them as an option for free is nice. The pool area is really neat as were the Koi ponds. We spent many hours out on our balcony watching the fish. I do have to agree with some other reviewers with the conditions of the rooms. It does look like they took an old hotel and just slapped some new paint on the rooms. The bathroom wasn’t updated and there was other peoples hair clung to the walls. I felt like the room and the hallways could be cleaner. Also don’t expect a large TV in the rooms. They are 32 inches at best. The beds are very comfortable and it was nice to be able to have the option of air conditioning. I did like that our stay helps the community but I thought the price was a little high once I seen the condition of the room.

Lovely staff, beautiful gardens, attractive lobby, live music at night. Found the rooms were very basic and shower/tub far too small for my teenage son but unit was clean and convenient.

My friend and I had such a lovely stay at the SCP Hotel. The staff were kind and friendly. The hotel room was clean and incredibly comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

What a peaceful, tranquil and relaxing place to vacation! The staff is full of aloha spirit and I loved staying here! It just reminds me of the old Hawaiian style hotel. The location is perfect.
