Dowlat Villas Palace

one of the hidden gems in the gujarat side of the aravalli hills. this place has a wonderful and interesting history to share. you get to enjoy excellent hospitality of the family (it is a home stay) and they make you feel at home. lovely food, well spread out rooms, non intrusive staff, a pool big enough for those who love to take a splash, and jeeps available on rent if one chooses to travel to polo forest or take a hike up in the hills (sunset point)...one may choose to have picnic up the mountains amid the lush green jungle and enjoy the scenic beauty of the region.

Stayed with 2 rooms for 3 days, 2 nights which included a pet too. Overall a good experience as a homestay which included good food, good ambience, a great palace, good clean swimming pool & lot of pet-friendliness. Good service quality & very friendly staff. The royal family does pay personal attention to the guest comfort & services. On the areas of improvement side – Better hygiene in rooms/bathrooms (Found cobwebs in corners), better toiletries (They don’t cost much), On time access to meals (8 PM dinner opened at 842 PM – I was staying with senior citizens who sleep at 9 PM!), Getting fresh towels was a challenge (Day 2 towels I got in the evening after 3 follow-ups – they were to come from the laundry), No mineral water in room (Jug water with RO is fine but the jug wasn’t clean enough to live up to my confidence, I want to save plastic too!) Overall, a great property with superb potential to be among the top heritage stays in the country if the finer details are looked into to compete with the big brands like Tree of Life or other such heritage palaces.

Absolutely wonderful property with the lost gracious hosts and so much history.. One of the most comfortable beds and an amazingly clean swimming pool. So much nature around and the property is v well maintained.. Loved listening to the history and tour of the artifacts and their car collection. Most humble amd gracious hosts.. Make sure you call the hosts and take proper directions to reach the original Dowlat Villas Palace, the gate mentions Main Gate. We shall be back again to enjoy the great hospitality and amazing food and rejuvenating ambience.

I thought it was simply lovely Best was when I met the erstwhile Rajah of Himmatnagar, who shared that he worked with HSBC until his dad called him back to help out! Lovely period furniture, a quaint swimming pool, and family heirlooms made this a very special visit

We were a party of 6 traveling from USA and UK so had booked 3 rooms at the Dowlat Palace Hotel in Himatnagar on our way to Udaipur and the experience was fantastic! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Kiran Singh who is a descendent of the family who owns the property spread over 35 acres. We were offered afternoon tea in rooms and gave our choices for dinner which was cooked especially for us and served in the main dining room. The staff led by Mukesh and this team did a great job of catering to our needs and you could see how passionate they were about their work. The property is quite historic with ***y pictures of the former maharaja’s and rooms were very well appointed and in nice condition. There is a large area where you can walk and they also cater to weddings on the property. Alas, we only stayed one night but could easily spend more time at this lovely palace. Overall, we had a great experience and the hospitality was second to none so would highly recommend to anyone!
