Little Brick Saigon Hotel

Ho Chi Minh City Centre Ho Chi Minh City|0.47km from Saigon Language School
My wife and I booked a Superior double room incl bfast here for 6 nights in February. We requested a transfer (for approx £12) by emailing the hotel and were met at Tan Son Nhat International airport as arranged. This proved to be a good move as the hotel was further from the airport that we had expected and the traffic was awful. Check-in was quick and easy and we were given a room at the back of the hotel on a higher (10th) floor as requested. Our room was quiet and spacious with a large comfortable bed. There was a wardrobe (but no drawers), a fridge (no free drinking water!), kettle (cups, but no supplies), TV (some English channels), table and 2 chairs and complimentary flip-flops. There was no room safe but valuables could be kept at reception free of charge. The aircon, hairdryer and Wifi worked well. The bathroom had a shower/bath combo with good pressure and plenty of hot water. 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels, a bathmat, 2 small soaps, 2 sachets shampoo, 2 toothbrushes and a comb were provided. The cleaner came daily but did not clean the floors or bath and on one occasion left no towels or toiletries. However these were quickly obtained from reception. The breakfast area was on the ground floor. The breakfast buffet selection was small but adequate. You were offered a choice of eggs (fried, scrambled, omelette) cooked to order. The buffet itself consisted of 3 hot asian dishes, bread/toast, cakes (2 types), fresh fruit (usually watermelon), juice, (not replaced once finished), tea and coffee. Milk was kept behind the counter and you had to ask for it every time you wanted a splash in your tea or coffee. There were 2 convenience stores close by (the Vinmart minimart across the street was cheaper than the CircleK) and there was a large Co-op supermarket at the end of the street (about 10 mins walk away). My wife and I thought this hotel was very good value for money. It was in an excellent location and staff were friendly and helpful. We had an enjoyable stay and would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel or staying here again if we are in the area. This review is based solely on my experience and I hope you have found it helpful.

Rang Dong Hotel

Ho Chi Minh City Centre Ho Chi Minh City|0.48km from Saigon Language School
We had an outstandingly pleasant one-week stay at the Hotel Rang Dong in Sai Gon (Ho Chi Minh City) in October 2022. The Check-in and Check-out experience with everything in between gave us plenty of happiness. Starting with the smiling doorman, every staff member was smiling and helpful. The housekeeping staff was competent and diligent. The hotel, an eight-storeyed standalone building is very clean and tastefully decorated. The rooms are clean, practically designed and the bed is very comfortable. The Supply of a range of excellent toilet articles was very liberal. The bath and WC are very clean and shiny. The elevators are fast and efficient. The location of the hotel is extraordinarily convenient with markets, eateries, and most sights within walking distance. Free local maps and travel advice is available at all hours. A steady supply of tea and coffee with a coffee-making kettle, as well as a refrigerator, made us feel at home. The Mini Bar was thoughtfully arranged with very reasonable prices. Plenty of mobile and laptop charging points. The Wi-Fi is uniformly strong all over. Very liberal of the hotel to display the passcode at the reception counter which even non-residents can come and use. There is a very convenient open-air restaurant at the hotel entrance surrounded by greenery. There is another right behind the front desk. The Menu is extensive. The elaborately laid out multi-item breakfast ranges from fruits, juice and candies to bread and spreads, egg-to-order, salads, cheese, cold-cuts....and several cooked or stir-fried dishes. We faced some problems as pork-beef content was not identified in English. But they were kind enough to specially cook up some sea-food with noodles for us. Communication in English was a problem, but each staff member was very patient and respectful. We wanted a late check out matching our flight schedule and very professionally they charged about 33 % of the daily tariff and made things easy for us. THE ICING ON THE CAKE is an accurate weighing machine at the reception area which allowed us to weigh and adjust our baggage weights before proceeding to the airport.

Ho Chi Minh City Centre
Would not recommend to anyone. Why? PFB the instances:- Cons 1) We were in transit from 12 AM the previous night and we reached the hotel around 9 AM. We were jetlagged, tired, sleepy and head was heavy. We requested the receptionist (a male) to please give us the room based on an early check in price. The response was shocking! We were told the category of room we have booked will not be available till 2 PM so you can wait in the lobby. Else, pay early check price for the room (that they were never giving until 2 PM) and also, play half price for another category of room (they were offering a suite). Imagine having to pay A+B just to get the room to sleep off. No consideration for the tired travellers. We paid early check in price for the room we never got and also, paid half price for a lower room category and slept till 1:30 PM. After we woke up, we moved to Our room. 2) No room service whatsover. If you wish to eat, eat during the buffet breakfast or Sky Garden on the top floor. When we enquired, if hunger strikes at say 12 noon or 9 PM - receptionist told us - You can go out and eat! 3) No iron available. Forcefully, we had to give the clothes for dry cleaning. And guess what? Ironing AFTER dry cleaning came at an extra cost. I mean how does that add up???? Also, they had almost lost my husband's t-shirt. They took them 3 hours to find it after the 48 hours delay. Yes, you heard it right - 48 hrs and 24 hours TAT for dry cleaning. 4) No tourist guidance whatsover. When we asked where do we go how do we go? We were handed a pamphlet. When looking for more options Alagon (just on the other street of this hotel) advised us to use Grab for travel. Which was a lifesaver. 5) When we asked for currency to be exchanged (Dollars to Dong) - The receptionist emptied his own pockets to give us the money and said he did not enough. How is that legal?? He did not give us the rate or even opened the hotel's money drawer. It was like he was transacting with us. Not the hotel! 6) The hotel is dull and gloomy. We requested for an upgrade or even a different room to get better sleep. We were given a road facing room which was full of traffic whole day and night. The receptionist (this time a female) said you can book online, with us expensive and we will see if we can give you. It is based on my manager. It was like pushing off business. 'I am not interested in giving you a room' vibes. Pros- 1) It is centrally located. So you can walk up to Starbucks or convenience stores. 2) Zen at the restaurant is a lovely lady who will take care of you. She wears a bow scarf and shirt pant. She was the only one who was welcoming. The days when my husband did not go down for breakfast, she would enquire about him and ask if I needed eggs prepared beforehand in case, he was on his way down. 3) Housekeeping staff is nice and helpful. 4) The room is clean with well equipped washroom. We had booked this room for 2 legs as we were doing Hoi-An inbetween for 3 days. After the

Highly recommend for anyone in need of a hotel that is convenient location-wise and most importantly, clean. The hotel is on Truong Dinh Street which is just approximately 1-1.5km from the central entertainment/ eating venues or shopping malls of HCMC. The rooms are small, but comfy small, with pleasant decor and design. The thing I love most was the hygiene quality, everything was kept clean and dustless during my stay, especially the restroom. I love the service here too. The receptionist is really sweet and gentle, and the doorkeeper was very helpful when I was trying to catch a quick drive to the airport. Will continue to stay here if I come to HCMC again!

I like this hotel very much. The service is very warm, and guests are greeted with a smile every day. There is a lot of food near the hotel. There is a war memorial museum and a children’s park not far from the hotel. I will still choose this hotel when I travel to Vietnam again in the future.

We stayed here for our short trip and we loved it. Everything was clean and neat, the apartment was stylish with comfy double bed. The staff was very helpful. The location was a bit further away from the city center but taxi is just a call away, and the staff was always willing to call one for us. Recommend this apartment if you want to stay somewhere quieter outside the city center. It’s much cheaper and overall everything was amazing.

The hotel itself is a three-star service, but the SPA on the top floor is great. The staff is also good and the SPA service is excellent. Please try it.
